Chapter 515: The King Who Could Not Punch His Enemy

"What a bastard!" Edmund cursed the moment he closed the bedroom door, even slamming it slightly. His eyes were filled with rage, and his face twisted with something dark.

Primrose, who had been waiting for him in the room, jumped in surprise and quickly stood up from the bed. To be honest, this was the first time she had seen Edmund act like this when it was only the two of them in the room. But she knew the anger was not meant for her.

For Edmund to suddenly lose control like this and even curse in front of his wife, Averon must have truly made something inside Edmund’s mind snap.

"Husband?" Primrose called softly. "How bad is it?"

Edmund froze in place the moment he heard Primrose’s voice. Only then did he realize that he had done something wrong.

"I’m sorry." He lowered his head, his voice filled with guilt. "I didn’t mean to shout at you."

"I know." Primrose sighed, then gave him a small, gentle smile. "You’re just frustrated because of Averon. I understand."

Edmund let out a rough breath when he heard the name "Averon," and he even rubbed his face harshly.

[That fucking king. If I didn’t have to hold myself back, I would have cut off his tongue and thrown his body into the dark abyss.]

His thoughts burned with anger. [Not only does he keep insulting Father, but he also makes disgusting comments about my wife sometimes.]

[How dare he talk about my wife’s body right in front of me?] he continued in fury. [I wanted to gouge his eyes out right then and there! And worse... I even had to insult my own wife with my own mouth. My fucking mouth!]

[I really want to cut off my own tongue—]

"Come here," Primrose said gently, cutting off his thoughts before they went any further. "Come, sit here."

She patted the bed a few times, asking Edmund to come over to her. After a while, he finally did so and then sat on the bed.

"Thank you for trying your best to talk with that bastard." Primrose hugged his head and gently stroked the back of it while softly patting his back. "That must have been very hard for you."

Edmund blinked in surprise because his wife suddenly thanked him instead of getting angry that he had shouted and spoken harshly in front of her earlier.

"Mhm. It was really hard," Edmund admitted quietly. He wrapped his arms around Primrose and pulled her closer, burying his face near her shoulder so he could breathe in her soft, flowery scent.

"He spoke badly about you and Father, but I couldn’t punch him." Edmund sighed. "I even made a plan to make Father’s business go bankrupt together with that bastard."

"That’s alright." Primrose gently calmed him. "I know you wouldn’t actually do that. Besides, my father’s business isn’t something that can easily go bankrupt."

Edmund chuckled softly and didn’t say anything for a moment, probably because he wanted to calm his mind by hugging his wife without the slightest interruption.
