"Edmund!" Primrose called out the moment she saw him step out of the palace. She quickly waved him over. "Aster found something strange. I think we should check it out."

"The window?" Edmund asked, probably he had already heard everything through her ring. "I was about to go there, but since I already came down, I wanted to see you first."

Primrose bit her lower lip, trying to hide the smile that threatened to show. Beside them, Aster stood there awkwardly, watching the two of them openly show affection like she didn’t exist.

"Why don’t we check on it together instead?" Primrose said, walking up to him and slipping her arm around his. "I already made sure all the women have warm blankets and hot chocolate. Solene and Aster can stay here and watch over them."

She turned toward Aster before Edmund could say anything. "You can handle that, right?"

Aster blinked a few times, then nodded quickly. "Yes, yes, of course. Don’t worry about that."

Primrose looked back at Edmund with a small smile. "See? They’ll be fine. Let’s go check that hidden room."

She pulled his hand and walked back into the palace. The human soldiers who saw the mighty Lycan King being dragged by his wife could only stare in confusion. After all, there was no way Primrose could drag him if Edmund himself wasn’t willing to follow her.

"But, my wife, wouldn’t it be better if I checked it myself?" Edmund said. "You can see it through the ring instead."

Without stopping, Primrose asked, "Why? You don’t like my company?"

"No, that’s not it!" Edmund said quickly. "I’m just worried there might be something dangerous inside. That’s why, it’s better if you don’t get too close."

Primrose turned back and smiled at him. "But at least, if someone is hiding inside, I’ll know."

Just like Edmund was worried about her, she was also worried about her husband getting hurt. At least, if someone was hiding there with a weapon, Primrose would be able to hear their thoughts.

"It’s alright. If I don’t hear anything, then you can open the door while I wait outside," Primrose continued. "I’m not suicidal, you know."

After all, she was going to become a mother, so there was no way she would risk her life by being reckless about something she didn’t understand.

Edmund sighed, then nodded. "Alright, then. Just let me check it first before you come closer to the door."

Primrose only nodded with a smile and had no intention of doing anything that would make her husband’s heart jump out of his chest.

When they reached the third floor, Edmund leaned slightly to look through another window, trying to figure out where the hidden room might be. It wasn’t in the west wing, but in the main building. With so many windows in the palace, it was easy for something like that to go unnoticed.

"Most of the time, we only clean the outside of the windows," the palace maid explained softly. She was new, so she had never stepped into the west wing. That was why Primrose allowed her to follow them.

"That’s strange," Primrose said. "Didn’t Averon ask you to clean all the rooms regularly?"

The maid slowly shook her head. "He rarely asked us to do that, Your Majesty." She added, "Maybe it’s because there are some rooms we’re not allowed to enter, so we only clean the ones that are frequently used."
