Fresh out of her shower, Charlotte opened the bathroom door and nearly walked right into Anthony. He was in a black robe, towel in hand, lounging against the doorframe with an easy confidence. His lips curled into a teasing smile. “Did you get your little treat?”

She just shrugged. “Yeah.”

With a quiet look, Anthony bent down and lifted her, setting her gently on the soft bed before kneeling beside her. He took her hand in his, looking up as he spoke. “I saw your post on Twitter.”

“Did you now,” Charlotte replied, half-amused. She wiggled her bare feet, one or two playful kicks landing on his chest. Her eyes sparkled mischievously. “And what did you think?”

Anthony let out a low laugh, then leaned in to press a light kiss to the corner of her mouth. His voice dropped, warm and rough. “Honestly, it made my day.”

She cocked an eyebrow, clearly expecting more.

He reached for her hand again. “Now I can pick you up after work, hold your hand on the street, and show the world you’re mine. I don’t have to hide it. We can be close, whenever and wherever we want.”

Charlotte paused, her eyes narrowing, lips curving in a sly smile. “You really didn’t have to say that last part, you know.”
