The world spun for a heartbeat, then Charlotte found herself wrapped tight in Anthony’s arms. Even with their pajamas between them, she could feel the heat of his skin and the wild thumping of both their hearts.

From where she was, Anthony looked even more handsome. His face was all sharp lines and perfection, flawless from every angle.

Charlotte glanced up, a soft flush spreading across her cheeks.

“Sit here for a bit,” Anthony said, his voice gentle.

He set her down carefully, then turned to grab a hair dryer. Standing in front of her, he started drying her hair, his hand moving through her locks. “Next time, dry your hair right after your shower, okay?”

Charlotte yawned, resting her head against his chest. She leaned in, clinging to him like a sleepy kitten.

“Did you have fun today?” he asked.

“Mmm.” She sounded half-awake. “Grandpa was nice. My aunt and uncle too. Everyone was nice.”

“Yeah?” Anthony’s lips curled in a tiny smile. He finished with the hair dryer, set it aside, and reached for the ointment to treat her hand.

“If you miss them, you can visit anytime,” he said quietly.

Anthony was so tall that he had to half-squat in front of her now, head bowed. His silk pajamas were a dark coffee color, and when he leaned over, the neckline fell open, showing off his pale collarbones.

She remembered he had abs. Eight of them, actually. And…

Her gaze slid lower before she could help herself. She blinked a couple times.

Not bad at all.

When she didn’t answer, Anthony looked up, catching her staring. His eyes narrowed a bit, and he set down the ointment. He smoothed her hair, a smirk flickering at the edge of his lips. “What are you looking at?”

Before he could react, she slipped out of his arms, rolled over, and burrowed under the covers. “Wait until I’m asleep, then carry me back to my room,” she mumbled.

Anthony was left standing there, burning with frustration. He didn’t know whether to laugh or get mad. She’d totally done that on purpose.

He just stood there for a while, then let out a helpless laugh.

Half an hour later, after his shower, Anthony stood by the bed for a long time before finally sighing and climbing in.

As soon as he lay down, Charlotte curled up against him, fitting herself perfectly into his arms.

“My hand,” she said sleepily.

Anthony couldn’t help but smile, giving her his hand to hold. He brushed her hair gently and whispered, “Go to sleep.”
