His voice was low, warm, the kind that made her heart skip. “You don’t have to pick a fight with Franco. I’m heading back to Apex tomorrow. We’ll reroute Solenia’s business somewhere else.”

“Tomorrow?” Charlotte’s eyes sparkled. She’d been racking her brain for a way to sneak off to Solenia without him noticing.

Anthony caught her surprised look and narrowed his gaze. He gently squeezed her waist, his voice a rough whisper. “You look way too happy about me leaving. Should I be worried?”

“No,” Charlotte said, batting her lashes as she leaned closer. “Can I come with you?”

“You stay here.” Anthony ruffled her hair, his tone gentle. “I’ll handle it and be back before you know it. Promise me you’ll behave while I’m gone.”
