I went to the hospital to see him. He had been stabbed over a dozen times. It took the doctors a whole day and night to save his life.

He was wearing an oxygen mask. When he saw me, his eyes nearly popped out of his head.

The night they brought the insurance contracts home, their house was robbed.

Ashley was stabbed over twenty times and died on the spot.

Gavin was lucky and survived.

"Are you wondering why your son hasn't come to see you?" I asked, looking at him.

His cloudy eyes flickered as if he were asking for the answer.

After all, we were neighbors once, so I told him out of kindness, "He can't come because he's been arrested for murder."

It made sense. Victor's build and that awful smell he carried were unmistakable.

To get the money quickly, Victor had waited until his parents were asleep and staged a home invasion, stabbing Ashley to death in her bed.
