After a pause, Alice spoke again.

“I know they never liked your racing. Be careful.”

Then she hung up.

It felt awkward. Very awkward.

On the other end, Scott burst into tears.

He had once targeted Alice so badly and treated her terribly.

Yet when it mattered, his sister still cared about him.

He really had been awful.
