"I just have one question for you," Colton demanded sharply. "Are you truly sincere toward Felicia this time?"

Unsurprisingly, Colton wasn't swayed by a simple declaration. "Is it just because she looks pretty again? When she gets further along in her pregnancy and looks the way she did when she carried Anne, are you going to resent her? Are you going to force her to do chores and make her wait on you hand and foot while she's heavily pregnant?"

Those words caused Darin's expression to turn lethally cold. He knew Felicia had suffered terribly during her first pregnancy, but hearing Colton lay it out so bluntly ignited a fierce, blind rage in his chest. Colton stared him down for a long moment, offering no further response. He stood up and headed upstairs.
