Felicia did not deny it.

Max's tone hardened into a serious, commanding edge. "Keep your curiosity in check. Some things are better left unasked."

If even a man as powerful as Max chose to remain silent, and Ivy was too terrified to send Willa back to her own home, it meant the dark secrets within the Manning family were far beyond anything Felicia could handle.

Her gaze drifted toward the patio, watching Willa sit silently on the rocking chair. A heavy sense of dread settled over her heart.

Max's voice cut through her thoughts. "Do not throw your kindness around blindly. You cannot manage everyone's problems."

Felicia frowned deeply. "I never said I was going to manage anything."

"You certainly sound like you want to."

"Do you have any idea how incredibly annoying you are, Max?" she snapped.

"Yes, I know," he replied smoothly. "As long as I am not annoying in bed, we will be just fine."

Speechless with rage, Felicia pulled the phone away from her ear and ended the call without another word. Her chest heaved with indignation. Every single time she spoke to this man, he managed to utterly destroy her peace of mind.

It took several deep breaths to cool her temper. She walked back over to Savannah and suggested her friend head back to the Ross estate first. Savannah agreed and left.

Felicia sat beside Willa on the swing, her mind racing. She was genuinely desperate to know what kind of nightmare this beautiful, fragile girl had endured at the Manning estate—a nightmare so terrifying that even Max refused to speak of it.

Around nine-thirty, Felicia was just helping Willa back into the house when Luke returned to the villa.

"Felicia," he called out.

Felicia turned and saw Luke walking through the door. Beside him was Ivy, dressed in an elegant white gown, radiating grace and poise.

"Willa," Ivy called out softly, her voice trembling.

At the sound of Ivy's voice, Willa practically threw her hands out, her calm facade shattering into tears. "Ivy! Are you okay?"

Ivy hurried forward and grasped Willa's hands tightly. "I am perfectly fine." She then turned to Felicia, offering a sincere, grateful bow. "Thank you, Ms. Ross, for taking such good care of my sister."

Felicia smiled warmly. "It was no trouble at all."

Felicia glanced at Luke. "I will head home now."

"Alright, thank you," Luke replied.

As Felicia walked away, Ivy guided Willa deeper into the villa, with Luke following closely behind.
