It was painfully obvious that he had not been with another woman all these years. Despite his current icy demeanor, Savannah felt a deep sense of satisfaction. She skipped ahead of him, walking backward so she could look directly into his face. He really did look like a man furious over being taken advantage of.

"If you are genuinely mad, I can apologize," she offered lightly.

Darin kept his eyes fixed strictly on the path ahead, refusing to acknowledge her.

Suddenly, Savannah twisted her ankle and began to fall sideways with a sharp gasp. Moving with lightning reflexes, Darin grabbed her arm and wrapped his other hand firmly around her waist to steady her. Savannah gazed up at him, her eyes dancing with undisguised amusement. Realizing he had been tricked, Darin yanked his hands back instantly. His tone turned incredibly solemn. "I told you I have no intentions of getting married right now. You do not need to waste your time on me."

Savannah lifted her chin slightly. "Who said anything about marrying you? Whether we get married or not depends entirely on your performance."

Darin simply bypassed her and continued walking.

"Savannah!" Luke's voice called out.

Stopping in her tracks, Savannah looked toward the main gate not far away and spotted Luke standing next to a stunningly elegant woman. After a brief goodbye, the woman stepped into a car and drove off. Seeing that Darin had not stopped, Savannah ambled over to Luke. "It has been a while, Luke. Was that your girlfriend?"

"Not exactly," Luke replied smoothly. He and Ivy were strictly maintaining a mutually beneficial partnership.

Sensing her confusion, Luke smoothly changed the subject. "What is going on with you and Darin?"

Savannah saw no reason to hide it. "I am pursuing him, of course."

Luke blinked in surprise before a knowing look crossed his face. "Then I wish you success, Savannah."

"Thank you."

"By the way, are you coming over to Felicia's house for lunch?"

"No, I need to head home today."

"What about that beautiful girl staying at your villa?"

Darin remained silent, his gaze sweeping over the elaborate gift boxes stacked in the living room. Luke did not stay long. After receiving a phone call from Rose, he bid his goodbyes to Felicia and the rest of the family before taking his leave.

Around noon, Greg arrived with Heather. Yara had stayed behind in Northwick and did not make the trip. A lavish, mouthwatering lunch was soon ready, the rich aroma filling the air.

"Everyone, take a seat!" Ava called out warmly.

Colton patted Darin on the shoulder. "Come sit down and try Ava's cooking."

Darin nodded with a soft smile, experiencing a rare warmth he had not felt in years. Once he was seated, Colton motioned to Savannah. "Savannah, come sit right here."

She happily took the seat right next to Darin. Felicia sat to Savannah's left, making sure Anne was comfortably settled beside her. Standing on her chair, Anne grabbed Felicia's phone and snapped a quick picture of the spread.

"Be careful, sweetie. Why are you taking a picture?" Felicia asked.

"Daddy cannot eat this with us, so I want to send him a picture."
