When Jeremy visited the Ross household one evening, Felicia had just finished dinner. She was sitting alone on the upstairs balcony, staring blankly at the sunset. The evening breeze ruffled her hair, but she remained perfectly still, a silent statue against the fading light.

Jeremy stood a short distance away, watching her quietly. Beside him, Ava spoke in a hoarse, anxious whisper. "She is like this every single day. What are we going to do? Luke called earlier and said Anne has been admitted to the hospital."

They had not dared to break the news to Felicia. She had locked herself away in a mental fortress, and no one knew how to breach the walls.

Jeremy walked slowly over to the balcony and stood beside her. He followed her gaze toward the horizon, where the setting sun cast a golden veil over the sky. Downstairs in the living room, Luke strode through the front door and greeted the solemn couple sitting on the sofa. "Ava. Colton."

They both looked up at his arrival. "Luke, hi," Ava said.

"Where is Felicia?" he asked.

"She is upstairs. Jeremy is with her."

Just as Ava finished speaking, the sound of footsteps echoed from the staircase. The three of them looked up to see Jeremy and Felicia descending the stairs.

"We just managed to coax her to sleep," Amber replied gently.

Felicia nodded in acknowledgment. "Thank you for everything. You should all head home now."

Amber looked as if she wanted to say more, but she realized that words would offer little comfort. She simply nodded and agreed. The children were reluctant to leave, wanting to stay by Anne's side, but Amber softly reassured them that Anne would be alright. After a bit of gentle persuasion, the guests finally departed.

With the house quiet again, Felicia made her way upstairs. Luke and Jeremy remained in the living room. Just then, Jeremy's phone rang. It was Darin.
