Katrina thought for a moment. "Hand me my phone..." she murmured groggily.
Naylor immediately found her phone and handed it to her.
Katrina dialed her mother's number directly.
"You don't need to come. I know how busy you've been. It's Sunday, you should be resting. I'm doing perfectly fine today, and the nurses are taking great care of me," Willa insisted affectionately, her heart aching for her overworked daughter.
Overhearing his future mother-in-law's instructions, Naylor figured a hospital visit was off the table for today.
A wicked smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth. Whatever he was thinking, it definitely wasn't innocent.
Before Katrina even finished the call, he slid off the bed and walked away.
"Mom, actually... Naylor and I got back together. And we're planning to get married. He wanted to visit you at the hospital today, but he had a work emergency this morning and just finished up—"
Hearing the news, Willa was somewhat surprised, but deep down, it felt inevitable.
"As long as you two are happy and this is what you want, I fully support it," Willa replied. She knew her daughter had never truly gotten over Naylor, and this was the best possible outcome.
"Come see me when you both have free time, or just wait a couple of days until I'm discharged. Enjoy your Sunday and get some rest."
Willa might be single now, but she had been young once; she understood how young couples operated.
They had just reconciled. They were undoubtedly going to spend the entire day tangled up in each other, and she wasn't about to interrupt that.
Katrina blushed furiously at her mother's unspoken implication, her cheeks burning even through the phone.
After hanging up, she put her phone down, only to see Naylor walking back into the room looking like he had just stepped out of a steamy shower.
She froze. "What are you doing?"
Naylor smirked, his handsome features exuding dangerous charm. "Since we aren't going out, what do you think we should do?"
"..." Katrina was horrified.
This was ridiculous!
Was he trying to kill her?
It wasn't like the world was ending tomorrow.
Seeing her stunned expression, Naylor walked over and teased, "You've slept half the day away. Are you telling me you're still tired? You should have plenty of stamina by now."
"I do not." Katrina snapped out of her daze and scrambled to roll away.
She hadn't been sleeping to recharge for another round in bed with him; she was genuinely drained and needed time for her body to recover.
She had finally caught up on sleep, and he wanted to start all over again!
Katrina didn't make it far. Naylor climbed onto the bed, wrapped a hand around her ankle, and effortlessly dragged her right back beneath him.
"Naylor Wilson, exercise some self-control! It is broad daylight!" Katrina tried to appeal to his logic.
"So what? Sundays were made for indulging."
"No... I'm starving. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday. I'm so hungry..."
"I ordered food. It'll be here in half an hour. That's just enough time."
"Since when is half an hour enough for you?"
None of their sessions last night had ended in half an hour.
