This was my first time venturing down to the third floor, and it was so quiet that it felt like stepping into another dimension.

Only when a staff member occasionally opened a door could faint sounds be heard from inside the rooms. Yet, the moment the door closed, the corridor would plunge back into an eerie silence.

All the doors were tightly shut, and the soundproofing was excellent.

I couldn't make out anything from the faint noises, but just knowing that there were boys and girls here who shouldn't be in such a place filled me with both anger and dread.

Judging by the size of this club, there had to be dozens of rooms on this floor and just as much staff.

Just how many secrets were hidden here?

A chill ran through me, and the bright lights above left me feeling slightly disoriented.

Standing in front of the elevator would draw too much attention. So, I quickly identified a target—the room at the far end of the hallway.

Nelson might be there. The secrets of this place might be there too.

"Ding!" The elevator next to me suddenly chimed. My body reacted faster than my mind—I immediately hid in the shadows behind the wall.

A wheelchair was slowly pushed out of the elevator. It was Claudia!

I froze in disbelief. What was she doing here?

She looked well. Apart from the thick blanket draped over her lower body, there was no sign she had ever been a patient.

But if her illness was cured, shouldn't she have been taken into custody for investigation? Could it be that Nicholas couldn't let her go?

"Mr. Fisher is inside, but let me remind you, he doesn't allow anyone to disturb him when he's in that room. So, you'd best wait here for him to come out," the woman said.

"Alright. Stop nagging. Go on now! Mr. Fisher must miss me. Otherwise, he wouldn't have brought me out of the hospital."

At that moment, both Claudia and I waited for the woman to leave. Once the woman was gone, Claudia pushed open the door and went in. Meanwhile, I emerged from the shadows of the corner.

I wanted to get close to hear what they were talking about. However, just as I took two steps, a furious voice boomed from inside.

"Who let you in?"

I quickly retreated to my hiding spot. The next second, Claudia was thrown out of the room by Nelson. I was startled, especially when Claudia began crying and screaming my name.

"Ariana! It's always Ariana! How am I any less than her?"
