"I'm coming," Granger interrupted smoothly. "If there's a real issue, having an extra set of hands to help coax her out won't hurt."

Given the urgency of the call, Charlene hadn't had a chance to press for details. The moment they stepped out of the hall, she pulled her phone back out to get a clearer picture of Jasmine's meltdown.

The call connected almost instantly.

"What exactly is going on with Minnie?" she asked. "Why the sudden change?"

"Well, actually, Minnie has been acting a little off these past few days-" the butler began.

Before he could finish his sentence, another voice cut in.

"What's wrong with Minnie?"

It was Thorne.

The butler spun around, startled to see that Thorne had just returned.

Thorne glanced at him suspiciously. "Who are you on the phone with?"

"Charlene," the butler answered honestly. "I updated her on the situation with Minnie earlier, and she called back to check in because she was worried."

"Right." Accepting the explanation, Thorne didn't ask anything else and headed straight for the stairs. "I'll go check on her."

Snapping back to reality, the butler nodded. "Of course."

Thorne's broad shoulders quickly disappeared around the corner of the staircase.

As the butler opened his mouth to resume his conversation with Charlene, she beat him to the punch. "Since he's home, there's no need for me to come over."

In truth, she hadn't paid any attention to Thorne's whereabouts over the last few days.

She had no idea that he had been away on a business trip ever since Dr. Lucas's gala.

Earlier, when the butler first mentioned Jasmine refusing to eat, she had asked about Thorne. Hearing he was out of town, she assumed he had just left.

The butler wanted to argue, to urge her to still come, but he knew it wasn't his place. "Understood," he sighed. "I'll keep you posted on Minnie the moment anything changes."
