Lemira looked over and saw that Sophia was now sobbing, all traces of her arrogant demeanor from the coffee shop gone.

She pressed her lips together. "If you knew being exposed would be this humiliating, why did you lie in the first place?"

"What lie? Ask anyone here, are you even worthy of Orion?"

Sophia had lost all her usual composure, her voice becoming shrill.

Orion's expression was tense. "Sophia, I'm the one who pursued her."

Lemira glanced at the shattered glass on the floor, an inexplicable heat rising to her cheeks. She turned and hurried out of the room.

Sophia watched them, her voice hoarse. "Orion, did you have to humiliate me in front of everyone?"

"I seem to recall telling you to clear up the engagement rumors yourself. If it had been anyone else, do you think they'd still be standing here talking to me?"

Orion's expression was grim, offering no room for compromise.
