Orion reached out and gently patted her head. “That’s good. At least you got your revenge.”

She frowned. “I didn’t realize they’d followed us.”

But Lucian, being held back by Orion’s men, called over, “We want answers too, Lemira. We have the right to know, don’t we?”

Asher looked at Lemira, too embarrassed to say anything.

Orion shot them an icy glance. “You’ll have to wait until Lemira knows the truth first. You didn’t do anything to help—so what right do you have to claim any part in this?”

Lucian’s expression soured. “We recognize Lemira’s work. We’re not here to take the credit—we just want to know the truth. Isn’t that fair?”
