Asher was so furious that he couldn't utter a single word.

Evander, believing that Asher shared his displeasure toward Lemira, quickly chimed in, “Asher, you can’t just let Lemira walk all over you. You should just make her give back the villa.”

Before Asher could respond, Lucian looked up and snapped, “Evander, what are you really up to? Asher promised this villa to Lemmy. How could you possibly take it back now?”

“But the villa was left by Mom and Dad,” Evander argued, completely unfazed. “Why should Asher just hand it over to Lemira? She has zero respect for him—what’s wrong with me asking him to take it back?”

Evander truly saw nothing wrong with his demand. He was Lemira’s brother after all. If anyone deserved family property, he believed it ought to be him.

“Evander, don’t think I can’t see through you. You want the villa for yourself, don’t you? Dream on,” Lucian retorted.

Asher, already burning with anger, could barely contain himself at Evander’s brazen words. “If it wasn’t for you, would I have been forced into giving Lemira the villa in the first place? She practically used it to threaten me.”

Had Evander really forgotten what happened back then?

The more Asher spoke, the angrier he became. Compared to Lemira, his own brother was just hopeless.

“Asher, I won’t deny everything you’ve done for me. But to me, you’re still my brother. That said, just look at the way Lemira treats you!” Evander shot back.

“How Lemira treats me is none of your business,” Asher answered coldly. “None of this would have happened if it weren’t for that woman, Evelina. She’s the reason the Langston family is in this mess. I regret ever bringing her into our home.”

Regret had weighed heavily on Asher these past weeks.

He shouldn’t have let Evelina become part of the Langston family; maybe then, none of this would have happened, and Lemira wouldn’t have become so estranged from everyone.
