Actually, Thaddeus already knew the details, but he deliberately had his staff say it out loud so Lemira could hear.

"Word is they are severely short on cash. The PZ Group has been constantly pushing for progress, threatening to demand heavy compensation according to the contract if they fail."

"We were thinking we could strike while the iron is hot. Force the Langstons to sell the project to us, and we'd eliminate a competitor in the process."

Thaddeus chuckled. "Buying it would cost a fortune."

"True, it's not cost-effective. It might be better to just let them collapse. We'd still lose a competitor."

Lemira sounded completely confident.
