When I regained consciousness, I found myself lying in a hospital bed.

As I slowly opened my eyes, the first person I saw was Dr. Bennett.

She wasn’t overly emotional; instead, she gently patted my shoulder to comfort me.

“It’s okay, Jasmine, don’t worry. Everything will be fine.”

My senses slowly returned.

I remembered everything that had happened before I lost consciousness, and I shot up suddenly, but the pain in my back made me wince, tearing through me like a knife.

“Don’t move! Lie back down, quickly.”

I was too weak, and tears flooded from my eyes uncontrollably.

Victor—did he know?

I forced a small, bitter smile. Of course, I hadn’t dared to keep any photos of him for the past four years, so I had resorted to this—drawing him over and over, trying to hold onto him in some way.

I had no idea how many times I had drawn Victor. Happy, angry, jealous—every expression felt etched into my veins, coursing through my bones. After so long, even someone who had never seen him could easily recognize him from my drawings.

It didn’t take long for me to calm down, carefully asking, “Where is he now?”

Dr. Bennett sighed. “He checked to make sure you were alright, asked me to take care of you, and then left with a murderous look in his eyes. Jasmine, the way he looked... it was terrifying. It was as if he was going to kill the whole Tyler family.”
