"I know." He smiled sadly. "I also know that you are beautiful, and strong, and kind, and caring, and loving, and perfect in every way possible. It breaks my heart to know that you don't believe that." He wiped my tears off with his thumb. "And I also know that my mate died two years ago to a brain tumor." My breath hitched in my throat.

"I'm so sorry Chase! Here I am crying because I got rejected, and your mate died." I wrapped my arms around him, but he pushed me back. He held me at an arms length to look at me.

"I'm fine with it. Really. I've worked through it. She was happy with the life she lived. She didn't even know she missed out on anything. She was only a half werewolf, her father was a wolf and her mother a human. She hasn't even shifted so they never told her about wolves or mates. She was happy." He smiled sadly. I want to see his real smile. All of these sad smiles, were because of me...

"I'm still sorry." I whispered leaning into him. "You deserve a wonderful life with a wonderful mate. You deserve so much."

"And I'm still sorry you don't think you're good enough." He mummered into my hair. "You deserve more than I could ever give to you. But I love you anyways." He held me close to him, my head curled into the crook of his neck, we got like missing puzzle pieces. Again I am reminded of how he is my home. Chase is wrong, I don't deserve anything. But I have him, and I never want to let him go.

Alex's POV

I wanted to rip him apart and tear him to shreds! My eyes saw red, as he put his arm around her waist. I listened in on their conversation.

"Trust me hon, those boys would do anything just to be with you." One of the boys with her said.

"Why?" My poor confused mate asked. Does she not realize how sexy she is? She's blind.

The sexy nerd. God it makes me hard just thinking about it. Too bad she's so weak, I was forced to remind myself. She's weak. She's weak. She's weak. She's a nobody. Completely unable to be a proper Luna.

I came up behind her and put my hands on the back of her chair. My fingers sliding again her tank tops straps on the process. God just touching her made me hard. "They just want to get in your pants babe."

"Oh." My wolf howled at the pain in her voice. Knowing I caused that broke my heart, but it was true. She's never been popular. If the guys are suddenly falling all over her at her new school it's because they want her panties. I took a deep breath, breathing in Lexi's wonderful sent. I couldn't describe the smell, it was just perfect. My wolf was fighting with me in my head, wanting control to apologize to Lexi. A strong Alpha doesn't apologize.

"Please." She lead my hand down to her butt. "I'll let you do whatever you want." She tried to be sexy.

"No Jessica." My tone hardened.

She pouted and sauntered off to another poor soul.

Lexi's POV

"No way! I'm most definitely not sone cheerleader Barbie!" I argued with John.
