"They will love it." He smiled a real smile at me, fidgeting slightly where he stood.

"Thanks." I forced a small smile back.

"You're welcome. Well I need to go run some errands, I'll be back later." He smiled, grabbing his keys off of the counter, and he walked out of the kitchen leaving us all pleasantly surprised.

"Who the hell was that?" Tucker chuckled. "That is not the same guy I beat up last night."

"Wow." I shook my head going over to stir the macaroni.

Who in the world just walked through the kitchen? That was not the reaction I had expected. Not at all. If anything I had expected yelling, pushing, shoving, crying. Heck maybe even the cold shoulder. But nice and friendly? No. Not in a thousands life times!

Eventually I finished the food, and fed all the kids. Their mothers came in as well, and I made some coffee. It was all so sweet. What troubled me though, is that not many of the moms even recognized me. When I told them my name they pretended too, but I knew they didn't. I think it really was meant to be. He was supposed to reject me. I was supposed to leave this apack, I obviously don't belong. Not like all of my new pack likes me any better... But at least they know me. More so than the pack I lived with for 17 years.

ALEX'S POV

I let out a huff of air as I shut the front door behind me. Never in my life would I have thought being nice, would be so damn hard!

Just seeing Lexi in there with him killed me on the inside. I had to fight my wolf tooth and nail to not run over a rip his throat out. The thought of them doing things together, him touching her in ways only I should... kills me.

But what I have finally been able to see, is that I am happy seeing her happy. As hurt as it makes me feel, a small piece of my heart still rejoices in seeing her happy.

I threw open the door of my car, and jumped in. Plugging the keys into the ignition, the car hums to a start. The radio turns on blasting some random rock song. I reach up and turn the volume down slightly, but begin softly singing the words.

"I could stay awake just to hear you breathing, Watch you smile while you are sleeping, While you're far away and dreaming , I could spend my life in this sweet surrender, I could stay lost in this moment forever Well, every moment spent with you." Getting to the best part I start to actual sing, something I rarely do. I pulled into a light, and rocked out, watching the red light gleam.

"Is a moment I treasure ,I don't wanna close my eyes ,I don't wanna fall asleep ,'Cause I'd miss you, baby, And I don't wanna miss a thing, 'Cause even when I dream of you, The sweetest dream would never do, I'd still miss you, baby

And I don't wanna miss a thing."

I've never thought about lyrics before. It was just something I knew, but never analyzed. Until now. I though over the words again. Ran through it word, for word.

"Cause even when I dream of you, The sweetest dream would never do, I'd still miss you" I mummer to myself.

Gone.

LEXI'S POV

Alex never came back that night. Some of his pack started to get worried. Heck, even I started to get a little worried. Chase, me, and Tucker were staying up late in case he finally did come back.

None of his pack could reach him through mind link. His Beta was no where to be found.

"What happens if he never comes back?" I asked. I was curled up on the couch with Chase. His arm around my body, my head on his shoulder.

"I'm not sure..." Chase replied, rubbing my bare arm with his thumb.

"We can always take over his pack." Tucker smiled, I could practically feel his excitement over the idea.

I just laughed as they started to argue the ups and down of it. Through their bickering I heard a car door slam. Obviously they didn't, as they were still in full argue mode! I pushed myself off of Chase and stood up. I was half way across the room when Chase called out asking where I was going.
