Third Person’s POV
Adelaide gently kneaded the tense muscles at the back of Paisley’s neck, continuing her quiet reassurance.

“We haven’t lived through that kind of pain, so we have no right to judge her choice. We can’t force our worldview on them or make their life–altering decisions for them. We can feel regret and sorrow for this tragedy, but we absolutely cannot lose heart. The Independent She–Wolf Center must keep moving forward!”
“But the options we’re offering are the best they could hope for!”
Paisley’s tone softened, though the frustration still lingered.
“I know, dear, but why should they trust us? To them, we’re the luckiest noble wolves in the country,” Adelaide sighed.
Paisley let out a heavy breath of her own.
“I know you’re right. It’s just such a waste. If she had only come to us, her story would have ended differently.”
盏
“How about this,” Adelaide suggested, her mind racing.
“Tell Wendy to keep a sharp eye out. If she spots any cast–off she–wolves in the civilian districts, have her notify us immediately. We’ll go and talk to them ourselves.”
“That’s a brilliant idea.” Paisley nodded eagerly. “Once we win their trust, the rest will fall into place.”
“Oh, and there’s one more thing we’ve been overlooking,” Adelaide added.
“Their psychological trauma will be deep. Even if they find the courage to walk through our doors, they’ll likely struggle with depression for a long time. We need to find a specialized healer to provide guidance and comfort. They need that support if they’re ever going to live like true wolves again.”
“I’m the last person who should be comforting anyone,” Paisley admitted. “But Luna Harper might be up for it.”
“Christine seemed interested in the center too, didn’t she?” Adelaide asked.
“She did. She even came by to inspect the place while we were still renovating.”
Adelaide nodded. She felt that while Christine and Audrey had vastly different scents and personalities, they were a perfect match.
One was bold and decisive, a natural at giving direction; the other was gentle, like moonlight, and skilled at healing emotional
wounds.
If they were willing to help, they could save many she–wolves who had lost hope in life.
It looked like she would have to pay a personal visit to these two remarkable women.
Paisley spoke up again, her voice tinged with worry.
“I have another concern. Even if they join the center, will anyone actually buy the clothes they sew or the potions they brew? Or will people just discriminate against them because of their past?”

Valentine had mentioned before how Luna Skye was so disgusted by the fact that Adelaide had broken her contract with Ulrik that she refused to even accept the gifts Adelaide sent for Melinda.
If an elite she–wolf from a powerful pack like Adelaide faced that kind of stigma, what kind of malice would ordinary she wolves have to endure?
Adelaide countered gently, “What you’re describing might happen down the road. But we aren’t there yet, so there’s no use dwelling on it. The priority right now is finding a way to build trust with the women who have been abandoned.”
“You’re right. I just didn’t expect it to be this hard,” Paisley sighed. “Do you think setting up the academy for the she–wolf pups will be even more of a headache?”
“Definitely not,” Adelaide said with absolute certainty. “Trust me, when that opens, people will be clawing over each other just for an enrollment spot.”
Paisley rested her chin on the back of her hand, feeling a bit deflated.
“Fine. I admit I’m a little cranky today. Tonight, I’m going to make my four students double their combat drills.”
Adelaide laughed.
“Go for it, then, respected Mentor Paisley. Your students are probably waiting with bated breath for your advanced combat class.”
Paisley smiled as well.
“Those crafty youngsters… only Alfred really gives it his all. His wolf is like a fire that never goes out; his progress is terrifying. He’s a natural–born warrior. If he had met me sooner, heaven knows how formidable he’d be. But starting formal training now… he’s already past the prime age for learning.”
Later that day, Adelaide paid a personal visit to the Ironclaw territory.
After she explained her mission–the Independent She–Wolf Center–Christine nodded without a second thought.
She was more than willing to help.
Adelaide let out a quiet sigh of relief, a smile finally reaching her eyes.
“Luna, with you on board, I have one less thing to worry about.”
“Girls always help girls,” Christine said softly.
