Jack had no doubt that this was the best way to handle the situation. After all, he was a couple with Bella once. Although they had already broken up, it would be inappropriate if he pretended not to know her at all. It might even raise Feena's suspicions.

Feena was also visibly stunned when she laid her eyes on Bella. She knew that Jack and Bella were in a romantic relationship once upon a time, but she had no idea that she would be joining them for their dinner tonight.

Although confusion swirled in her heart, Feena still greeted Luca and Bella with a smile. "Hello! Sorry for the wait."

Luca nodded while glancing at Bella. He explained, "Bella finished work at the same time as me. Since she was also a student of Alnewgo University, I invited her to have dinner with us. You guys don't mind, do you?"

Bella was also all smiles as she nodded at Jack and Feena. She said calmly, "Hi! Sorry for being a third wheel!"

Displeasure reared its head in Feena's heart, but she still replied amicably, "You're not a third wheel, Bella. We're even happier because you can join us."

She then said to Luca, "If I remember correctly, there's a pasta parlor nearby that serves delicious dishes. Shall we try it out?"

Naturally, Luca, Jack, and Bella didn't have any other ideas. The four of them drove to the destination in two separate cars.

Jack and Feena were in the same car. Jack drove while Feena climbed into the front passenger seat. She studied Jack's reflection in the rearview mirror before asking softly, "Did you feel something stir in your heart when you saw your ex-girlfriend? Did you get the urge to rekindle your relationship with her?"

Although Feena's tone was calm, Jack was able to discern the thick layer of jealousy that was laced in her words.

When they were given the menu, Feena smoothly introduced the different delicacies to them. According to her, there was a couple's set that was quite delicious. She intentionally ordered a couple's set for Jack and herself while Bella and Luca ordered regular sets.

After they were done ordering, Feena discreetly showed Jack a victory sign under the table, telling him without words that she had ordered the couple's set on purpose to announce to Bella that she was Jack's official girlfriend.

Jack shot her an awkward smile. It was clear that Feena was very concerned with Bella's existence even though she didn't express it verbally.

"Luca, how have things been for you since you moved to Tarthy City to advance your career two years ago?" Jack asked.

Luca's brow furrowed. He sighed lightly before saying, "It's hard to put it into words. Things may look great on the surface, but only those who experienced the hardships first-hand would understand how much heart pain I went through."
