"I hate him," I clenched my fists and punched the pillows. "I hate him, I hate him!" I had a mini temper tantrum as I sat in the bed, feeling more alone than I had ever felt in my life. When my tear swollen eyes finally closed and I fell asleep, I vowed to never let Nate feel happy around me again.

Nate's POV

Sera was asleep when I finally went back into our room after a meeting about security measures so no one would ever escape from the cells again. Turns out, Dylan had broken out when the guard who was supposed to look after him during the night had left for his mate, who had gone into labor. He had acted weaker than he actually was and escaped. In the end, it didn't matter whatever he had done, he was dead, I thought with a dark smile. He wouldn't bother my mate again.

I stood above Sera and tucked myself in front of her in our bed. I looked down at her sleeping face, and felt a pang of sadness and guilt when I saw that her eyes were puffy because she had been crying. I wrapped my arm around her waist and put my other arm under her head as I tucked her face into my neck. She snuggled into me as I held her close.

When I was about to fall asleep, I heard an alarm blare through the pack house. Sera mumbled and moved in closer to my chest as the alarm grew louder and louder.

Reluctantly, I pulled away from her and mind linked my beta.

What's happening?

Someone left 5 bodies on the north border and 3 wolves broke through.

Coming. I looked down at my mate, kissed her forehead, and left to see who had tried to attack my pack.

Nate's POV

I shifted in mid run as I looked down to see 5 of my warriors fighting against 30 rogues. It looked like more wolves had arrived at the border to help with the 3 that had came. I ripped one apart and growled loudly as another tried to pounce on me. I could kill 50 of these wolves in my human form without even breaking a sweat. But, I wanted to have some fun. I had to blow off some steam after what had happened with Dylan, and the best way to do that was to kill some trespassers.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep quickly, listening to her soft breaths and inhaling her sweet scent.

Sera's POV

I cuddled closer to the warmth behind me and sighed happily as I felt kisses going up my neck and moving to nip my ear.

"Good morning darling," I heard Nate say. In a few seconds, I realized that he was the one who was kissing me, so I pushed away from him and started to roll off the bed. Nate caught me before I could fall and sat me up in the bed. I stood up on my knees and walked off of the bed, going towards the bathroom. I didn't look back at Nate as he watched as I went to the bathroom and clicked the door open.

Once I shut myself in there, I sat down on the toilet seat and put my head in my hands. It was killing me to be away from Nate, but I didn't think I could be with him if he kept on taking such drastic measures to everything I did or tried to do. I wouldn't talk to him unless he found a way to apologize to me.
