Chapter overview: Chapter 863 from After I Stopped Loving Him
In this standout chapter of the Romance novel After I Stopped Loving Him, Daisy White introduces new challenges, powerful emotions, and major plot progress that captivate readers from beginning to end.
She always took on the big sister role with the younger ones.
Back before she married Jordan, any time she showed up at the Adams Estate, Ethan’s younger cousins would light up and crowd around her like she was the coolest person in the room.
Jeremy gave her a quick nod.
When he noticed the insulated lunchbox she was carrying, he grinned. “It’s not even lunch yet and you’re already spoiling Ethan with good food, Natalie.”
Natalie set the lunchbox down on Ethan’s desk, her voice gentle. “I stopped by my mom’s place earlier and she’d made some nourishing soup. I thought I’d bring some over for Ethan, you know, just to help him recharge.”
“Ethan, you’ve been working all afternoon. You must be starving. Have some soup to hold you over.”
She turned to Jeremy with a smile. “You should have some too.”
Jeremy shook his head right away. “No, Natalie, it’s for Ethan. I’ll leave it for him. I should get back to work anyway.” He started to stand.
Ethan looked up quickly. “Jeremy, wait. There’s something I still need to talk to you about.”
If Jeremy left, it’d just be him and Natalie alone in the office. If Isabella caught wind of that, she’d jump to conclusions again and trust him even less.
“What is it?” Jeremy asked as he sat back down.
Before Ethan could answer, Natalie stepped in. “How about you both try the soup first? You can talk business after. It’ll get cold if you wait too long.”
Ethan cleared his throat. “Natalie, I actually had a physical not long ago. My uric acid came back a little high. Doctor said I need to cut out alcohol, skip seafood, and stay away from soups. If I have soup, it gets even worse.”
