Chapter 1734: Althea Finally Levels Up

Two hours later

Althea found herself kilometers away from where she originally was, closer to the other gate. She received a report of which side had the more powerful monsters, and she headed straight there.

She could only gain experience from weaker monsters if they were no more than 2 levels below her (which, she felt, was really unfair). So she had to find monsters with levels 17s through 19s to make the subsequent mana use worthwhile.

Fortunately, there was an abundance of level 18 monsters around. Its dimension was mostly horizontal, yet it stood at the height of a house. It was armored with oil-slick chitin plates that gleamed in hues of brown, green, and black. It almost looked metallic, except more disgusting.

It had whip-like antenna that twitched constantly, and its mandibles were serrated, creating a clanking noise that could shear through leather or light armor.

Basically, it was a giant cockroach. The only good thing was that it couldn’t fly.

Despite its size, however, it was quite fast and its movements relatively unpredictable. It would be a challenge to land the right shot, especially since the weaknesses were the narrow gaps amidst its armor.

Fortunately, with her [Precise Aim], she could target its weaknesses accurately right after she started to predict its movements. She had to take about three to four shots to kill it, though, but it was fine.

She was chewing Harold’s improved mana cookies she had on stock even before, and fortunately, there were a lot of Cooks who awakened something similar, and she received quite a bit from them. Anyway, for now, she just focused on killing and not thinking of much else.

This way, the people watching Althea were a bit more controlled, and would watch her from the peripheral of their vision instead.

Others were a bit sharper than the fanboys, though. "Did Miss Althea always control water?" they asked, a bit confused, and trying to recall the few times they had seen the Elder fight.

"Yeah, aren’t her elements wood and water?"

Another shook his head. "No, it was wood and earth!"
