Chapter 1889: Growing Limbs (Part 2)

As for the herb, the elysian plant, most of the large piles they got were from Warrior City. After helping them out so much, the Lord thought they ought to do Alterra a favor.

That said, the carriage loads of the herb were thanks to the orcs. At some point, Warrior City became one of the cities to make direct contact with orcs, though they usually meet halfway, meeting somewhere before the Orc Mountains in the far east.

There were apparently two zones for the orcs, one part was those who were in the Western side of the mountains and had most contact with humans.

The other was on the Eastern side of the long mountain range, and in terms of land area, was much larger than the western side. The mountains there were extremely tall and barren, so there was a clear distinction between the two sides. Warrior City only had connections to those from the Western side, primarily because it was too inefficient to explore the other side.

Rumor has it that they did not have tokens originally, and the villages the Western orcs had were once inhabited by humans. The Eastern orcs had no such thing, nor did they care for it, probably, while the Western orcs had simply taken over what was not theirs.

This was also one of the reasons they were called barbarians. The majority of the human population either hated or were disgusted by orcs. To them, there was little difference between orcs and monsters, and therefore they should either die or be tamed, like those beasts pulling the beast carts.

Not that the orcs had actually done anything major for long, at least in this region. Warrior City had proven itself as a force to be reckoned with after hundreds of years, though when they were still a Town, they were at war at least once a month. This was also one of the reasons why they were more powerful than most of their peers.

Anyway, a certain heir found out that there were a lot of people heading to Alterra, and a certain heir wanted to jump in. Virion had long wanted to see this territory, but he had been too busy with the heir lessons being shoved down his throat.

He also knew about the missions heading to Alterra (he would often go to the Mercenary Hall to check, though there were always people with him, to stop him from actually going).

Anyway, he saw this mission, and he immediately contacted the orcs they were acquainted with to give them some.

Unlike the others, who just dismissed orc territories as enemies, they were not the same, regardless of whether the orc blood in their veins was so diluted it was almost non-existent. They simply didn’t think of it as default, perhaps by instinct, and so there was no bias, and they could interact with them like intelligent creatures.

If they were belligerent, then they were hostile. If they did not attack first, then they were not enemies. Simple as that.

In fact, it wasn’t known by outsiders, but one of Warrior City’s satellites was an orc territory. It was even an Orc Town called Azgar Town.

They took this during his brother’s peak, back before he fell ill. Orcs very rarely had towns at all.

This time, it was an old human town that had hunted down orcs, and they came for revenge. Since Orcs originally didn’t have tokens, there was no system stopping them from wars, nor was there a warning system involved.

After taking the token, they would have the same system as the humans, but they used it differently. Orcs were generally much more simple-minded, and they couldn’t maximize this. Thanks to this town, orcs had started to encroach more of the human territory, taking over more and more villages.

At some point, probably a decade or two ago, Warrior City took over this town, replacing the belligerent orc lord with a more obedient herbivore as steward. After the request, they gave him a small mountain of this plant, transferred through the warehouse.

It was just that this amount meant that Virion couldn’t teleport directly because Mercenary Halls would only transfer people and whatever was in their space. Hence, he had to manually travel to Alterra amidst the disaster to deliver the goods.

Sadly, just before he left, his brother stopped him. At a time like this, in the time of disaster, he shouldn’t be heading out so much!

Did he think that keeping things organized during a plague was easy!? Even after the cure was formulated, there were still months of work to actually produce enough and for the city to recover, right?!
