Chapter 1898: Planning Phase 2 (Part 1)

Meanwhile in Alterra, the planning for Phase two of the new area’s development had already begun.

Implementation might take a while, and not yet the priority, but the outline was already being made, especially since it would go through a huge amount of revisions and the like, going through various departments.

This would also give them a sort of road map in the town’s future development.

The usual wide avenues would be extended, there would be hotels, motels, and the like per zone. A certain percentage, as always, would be dedicated per zone, especially farming and industrial zones, which were Alterra’s lifeblood.

They would add some more private lease farmland too, to encourage more people to farm on their own, and also to add variety to their produce.

Althea always believed in the value of competition. She did not believe that there was anyone in the masses who could create a thriving farm not inferior to the territory’s. She did not want her own people to be complacent, and she wanted to tap into their potential by giving them the opportunity to shine.

That said, there would probably be specific crops that the town would need, and they would give extra support, like tax reduction and technical knowledge, to the farms supplying them.

The industries, warehouses, and factories would have large parcels dedicated to them as well. However, what was going to be built would depend entirely on what would be needed and what would be discovered in the next year or so.

This world was so new, and there were still so many things to discover. Who knew what would need mass production next year? Neither Althea nor the Golds dared to say for certain.

Other than the farms and industries, there were a few new developments with guaranteed placements. For example, there would be the pet projects that the ministers proposed before. These might be delayed because they were considering creating aether buildings out of a few of them, though which one was still being decided.

This was risky and could waste the little material they had, which was why it was still up for a long discussion.

Another was an auction hall, albeit manually built.

This building would hold important auctions that would be held around once a month. This was to ensure that the number of items per batch was sizeable and this would ensure another injection of tourists to Alterra, ultimately raising the economy even more.

If they turned it into a monthly event, instead of selling the ’big’ items as they appeared, then people could come to Alterra specifically for the auction. It would also cost less labor, marketing, and so on in the long-run, especially when it became well-known, and they could take advantage of word-of-mouth.

The consistency and reliability would also attract richer clients, which would ultimately be advantageous in terms of profit.

It would be modeled after some high-end Auction Halls in Terran, and would sell the especially rare things like certain potions and magic tools. It so happened that Belinda, one of Mathilda’s teammates from the start, was an antique appraiser.
