Chapter overview: Chapter 1907 from After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World
In this standout chapter of the Romance novel After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World, NispedanaSan introduces new challenges, powerful emotions, and major plot progress that captivate readers from beginning to end.
First of these was the Burst potion, which worked similarly to the empowering Berserk potion, which Grandmasters could already make. People knew this as the potion that could allow a person to go beyond their usual limit, or to maximize their power, for a short period of time.
However, instead of targeting someone’s ability to capture a huge amount of aether for a moment, the Burst Potion was inspired by how adrenaline worked. It was designed to allow a person to temporarily push through their limits for several minutes. It worked best for people level 15 through 30.
Of course, the safe usage was once every several days or longer for low-leveled individuals, and they had to rest well.
The Berserk Potion was technically safer and could be used more often, but the ingredients were insanely difficult to procure, and it could only be used by people above level 20, and wouldn’t work past level 30.
Weaker people could explode, while for stronger people, the aether needed to have a palpable effect in battle was so much so that there was no effect anymore.
Their Burst Potion, on the other hand, worked on the existing chemicals of the body, so it had a wider range of effect. The same ingredients could also be adjusted according to the person’s level, increasing its flexibility. It would put a strain on the body if used too often, however.
Fortunately, this strain was just like overusing muscles and could be easily recovered after a few days’ rest, so even overusing the potion wouldn’t be lethally bad, especially if the situation was an emergency.
Because they used their knowledge of biology and chemistry, but used Xenoan ingredients (and even served as a foundation for future endeavors), she received a Class B armor for it. She already had her own armour, though, so she gifted it to her husband instead.
It was a lovely, light, metallic armor that could soften and block blows from level 40s. It also had a slight deflecting effect, like the Celeste Mirror, though naturally weakened. Still, even a little bit of extra damage was appreciated.
Althea, who had been relatively indifferent to many of her rewards, now longed for them. Even if she herself didn’t use it, it would be useful for someone else.
It was just that to be given the rewards of World Knowledge, it had to be something other people hadn’t done yet, but could be done independently by others as well.
She had been really lucky with the Sprite and the other potions back then. Perhaps it was because she had Tori and her modern knowledge, but other than that, most potions using the common plants did not trigger anything.
The ones her pharmacists had ’created’ even got deducted with royalty when they were sold, indicating that it had already been discovered elsewhere.
But since some of those potions were unknown, they were not spread out by the creator, or were perhaps even gatekept. =
Another potion was the Eyesight Potion, which was something that could enhance a person’s sight by at least twice, regardless of their levels, so it was most effective for high-leveled individuals.
They studied how things like Vitamin A improved eyesight and then heightened its effects. For example, they isolated the component of the vitamin that directly improved eyesight. They simply had to improve this effect, and the aether and the natural improved physique of the people further enhanced this.
