Summary of Chapter 1908 – A pivotal chapter in After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World by NispedanaSan
The chapter Chapter 1908 is one of the most intense moments in After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World, written by NispedanaSan. With signature elements of the Romance genre, this part of the story reveals deep conflicts, shocking revelations, and decisive character changes. A must-read for anyone following the narrative.
Someone tried to kidnap Jonathan before the declaration, and it was two men his level.
It was a common thought that if the Lord hid away in the warehouse, it was indicative that the war was going to be lost, affecting the momentum.
Further, after the declaration, they would not be able to teleport to the warehouse. Once aware that a war was coming, the Lords activate various lifesaving means and guards, so it was also fairly common to try and make trouble to the Lords before then.
Ferrol’s rules and regulations were relatively detailed, but still not as detailed as Alterra’s, especially since their upkeep was expensive due to the town’s population.
They hadn’t been to a war for a while, either, so getting a declaration and a kidnapping at the same time could’ve been quite troublesome.
The enemies even sent level 40s to block his way and/or distract him, openly or subtly, using all the loopholes they could find.
Fortunately, with the money and strength he gained over the past few years, as well as some new alarms and protection charms he bought, he managed to avoid the blockage. He had plenty of flares in his space, allowing him to be rescued by his guards quickly before the enemies could take him away.
That said, thanks to this, they had reduced the troublesome spies within the territory because they revealed themselves to capture him.
There were definitely still more, but they were much more careful now. They have also learned quite a few strategies from Alterra and have a reporting system of their own. The aether letter maker was in the Alterra, too, so he, as an ally, could purchase a lot more of the tool than he usually could. This allowed each of the team leads to have one, which was already very good.
Anyway, before the war even started, they captured a dozen suspicious individuals.
He received a lot of help from the Terran mercenary team as well. Their information network, even in his own town, rivaled his own (which was actually worrying, but he learned to live with it).
And since they had more people on the ground, with people closer to each other and a tendency to gossip, they were actually ahead with certain news.
He was also thankful that Alterra left a number of people there, some of whom were powerhouses and soldiers, in order to assist them in the upcoming war.
...
The war started after a couple of hours, led by hundreds and hundreds of powerhouses above level 30 and dozens in level 40. Their forces averaged level 20, and even the slaves weren’t below level 15.
As mentioned, wars at this level were a battle of brute force, and Papell Town really invested in hiring as many mercenaries as the rules allowed.
A territory this old naturally had an estimate of how many allied and hired forces they could summon in a war without breaking any rules—and they were definitely maximizing it.
There were so many that they were like an Upgrade beast mob that could easily circle such a large perimeter of a top-level town.
There were people running around the perimeter of the territory, and there were also scopes (bought from Alterra) monitoring where the array opened up.
However, because the enemy level 30s and 40 went out of the arrays first, most of the traps or fighters they placed near the arrays were neutralised or pushed back.
They literally just burst through with force, their shields up, blocking a lot of the attacks. Choosing a few places, the powerhouses led the way for the tens of thousands behind them to try, and create breaches.
As for how these breaches would actually form, this was something Ferrol had to heavily guard against.
