Placing her on my desk, I cupped her ass cheeks and pulled her against my fully erect cock. She moaned at the contact and wrapped her legs around me.

"You have no idea what you do to me." I groaned and held my breath as she lowered her mouth to trail a string of kisses down my neck.

"Alpha, your fake mistress isn't in her room."

The panic filled mind link from Ren ruined the moment for good. I slowly unwound my hand from around Nyla's hair as I came back to my senses. I wanted her locked up in her room to stop myself from doing the very same thing I was doing right now.

She looked at me questioningly and unwrapped her arms and legs from around me. Rex literally went into intense pain.

"I don't want our first time to be where I fucked countless pack sluts."

I could see she was disgusted by me but still wanted to confirm if she heard me right.

"Yep, I don't like them in my room. So this is where I bend them over to fuck them from behind."

"You are a sleazebag! And calling a woman you sleep with a slut makes you a bigger manwhore! Why ask me about the mating ceremony with Adalyn when you were fucking others anyway."

"Because only sex with the chosen mate would cause you pain."

She landed a hard slap on my face and disappeared the next instant with Eric. I didn't see her after pushing away. And I hadn't slept for three days straight.

After a long run, I walked back out of the muddy forest in my wolf form when I saw Nyla standing by the balcony with a lost look on her face and watching it drizzle. Rex howled in pain at the sight of his mate.

Her eyes fell on him instantly. It was still dark out, but her night vision was impeccable. She watched Rex in awe, and those eyes glowed for me. It sent strange tingles of arousal through my body.

The light shone so brightly in response to my wolf's darkened eyes, I was sure for a moment she wasn't human.

'Definitely not a human.' Rex insisted.

Someone was knocking on the door nonstop, ruining my beautiful dream about once upon a time when I was with Maya at my home, happy and carefree. I rubbed the sleep away from my eyes and turned to the window to look outside.

What time was it?

The treetops formed dark silhouettes against the deep blue skies. I suddenly jumped out of my bed with renewed enthusiasm.

My stomach did a little flip.

"He's back..."

My mate missed me but was too scared to meet me alone in my room. I stifled a snicker.

He wanted to see me while I was training or eating food with his sister. I was super mad at him and wouldn't mind if he suffered longer. But I was going crazy too. This was the longest we went without seeing each other.

"I will go sleep for a few hours and join you later. Just wanted to tell you to not be late. You know how mad Madison is." Rachel smiled happily and went down to the hallway where Kian's room was located.

Madison was the trainer. She hated humans and told me training me was a lost cause because humans would never be a match for a wolf's abilities.

I fed Ari and complained to her about Kian yet again. She sensed the excitement in my voice and wiggled around smiling and clapping.

The first slivers of daylight filtered through the sequoias and redwood groves. I watched Olivia walk into the kitchens down below with a big basket full of herbs she collected from the back garden. Staring out of the window for hours is what I had been doing these last few days.

After slipping into a purple sports bra and a pair of black leggings, I combed through my dark mocha brown curls. I missed my waist-length hair, but it was finally growing back and reached my shoulders even when tied into a high ponytail.

Darting down the stairs and humming a cheery tune, I grabbed an apple from the kitchen before running towards the packhouse. I was feeling a little too happy and had to tell myself it had nothing to do with Kian.
