After more tantrum, Madam Wu finally calmed herself down. Taking deep breaths, she returned to her composed self.

"Someone! Come clean this up." She called before sitting back down on her seat.

When she was truly angry, the Madam always threw a fit before her servants. She didn't care because they wouldn't dare cross her. If there were any rumours leaked, all the servants who saw her would be silenced by death.

She had been upset because of what happened today. Then, when she tried to see Wu Yunxia, Master Wu refused to let her and stationed guards at his chambers to block anyone. Those who tried to go in other than the servants bringing food would be severely punished.

Madam Wu blamed Xingxie for all the misfortunes. So, she came up with a way to get rid of the girl.

Grabbing a rope from her sleeves, the maid tied Wu Xingxie's arms.

She knew Madam had told most of the servants and guards to clear out the way to her chambers so no one would catch her in the act.

Pointing a knife at Wu Xingxie, she arrogantly ordered,

"Let's go!"

The maid believed she had succeeded in kidnapping Wu Xingxie but that was her foolish thoughts.

Wu Xingxie followed along, and when they were half way to Madam Wu's chambers, she started screaming for help.

"Help! This maid is trying to kill me!"

The maid stopped and looked around for other people.

When she saw no one was there, she pressed the knife closer to Wu Xingxie's back.

"No one is here to help you. The Madam already ordered the servants to clear out the way."

"Is that so?" Wu Xingxie wasn't scared of this maid.

As she asked this, Yuyan, who had been tailing along sneaked up to the maid and pushed her away from the Eldest Miss.

"You dare to harm my Eldest Miss? I'll kill you!" The girl exclaimed and tackled the older maid on the ground. The knife she was holding fell out of her hands as Yuyan squeezed her arms tightly.

"Help! This girl dares to harm the Eldest Miss!" Yuyan shouted, louder than when Xingxie had yelled.

Actually, Xingxie didn't yell loudly on purpose so she could distract the maid.

After more shouting, many people heard and began to go to where the scream came from.

The guards were alerted and saw the Eldest Miss tied up. Her maid was on top of another maid who seemed to be the attacker.

Everyone was confused by the scene.

"What are you doing? Hurry and detain this wench!" Yuyan reminded the guards. At her commands, the guards pointed their weapons at the maid who Yuyan was holding down.

The maid had already begun to cry. Madam Wu said she wouldn't be caught no matter what. Now, the guards were aiming their swords at her.

"What's going on?" One of the male servants questioned.

"That wench tried to kidnap the Eldest Miss but thankfully she's caught." Yuyan explained. Since they didn't know why the maid would do such a thing, they figured it was out of envy.

"Eldest Miss, should we inform the Master?" One of the guards asked as he untied the rope on Xingxie. His voice was deep but very pleasant to the ear and he seemed to be in his early twenties.

"Not a word shall neither leak out this manor nor to the Master."

The servants all knew who he was and his position so of course they would listen. While the Master should be told of such matter, the Eldest Miss had told them not to inform him. Her words implied that she didn't want to trouble him with these matters so they wouldn't open their mouths.

The servants began to go back to what they were doing. Yuyan grabbed the Eldest Miss's hands and looked at her smiling.

"Did I do good?" She asked and Xingxie smiled under her veil.

"Of course, you were very brave." She replied and from her peripheral vision, she saw the guard who commanded the other guards standing by.

"You are?" Xingxie asked, turning to the tall guard.

"Pardon me for the rudeness. I am Wei." He politely bowed.

"Wei? Do you have a family name?" Wu Xingxie asked since it was common.

"No, I am an orphan." Wei answered her question and Wu Xingxie quickly regretted.

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine." He assured her.

"Let me accompany you ladies back. It is getting dark." He added before Xingxie could say another word.

Maybe he was an orphan, her sympathetic side felt bad for asking. She accepted his offer but then glanced at the jade on his belt. He served in the military, so was he one of Master Wu's people?
