Selena watched everything unfold on a nearby monitor.
Lately, she’d been feeling that something was off.
But seeing how worried he was about her safety, how he wouldn’t leave until she was safely inside, she figured everything was probably fine.
Still, Isabel’s reaction had certainly surprised her.
How could someone who loved Adrian so much actually go through with a divorce?
According to her plan, Isabel should have been back at Halcyon Hills Residence by now, begging Adrian to take her back.
And that right hand of hers... she still wasn't sure about the extent of the recovery.
From the way she was playing the bean bag toss at the kindergarten today, it seemed to be healing quite well.
She was just lucky to have found old Mr. Reed to treat her.
But even if it healed completely, she’d never be able to catch up to Selena's progress on the Y-2 project.
However, if they really did get divorced, it would be more troublesome than the Y-2 project itself.
She needed to come up with a plan first.

After dropping Leo off with his grandparents, Isabel went to book a hotel room for Julian.
But Julian said he needed to return to Aurelia City.
In that case, Isabel wasn't going to interfere. "Have a safe trip."
Julian suddenly pulled her into a brief hug.
He released her so quickly that Isabel barely had time to react.
He was already in his car, pulling away.
The window rolled down, and an unusually pale hand waved at her. "Don't forget, dear. Get that divorce sorted out quickly."
Isabel wished she could.
She turned and started walking home.
Fumbling for her keys, she wondered how she could speed up the divorce process.
If Adrian kept refusing, should she approach old Mrs. Blackwell?
After all, old Mrs. Blackwell already knew, so it wouldn't be a shock to her system.
"Isabel."
*Clatter.*
Just as Isabel found her key, the sudden sound made it slip from her grasp.
Without even looking at the person standing at her door, she bent down to pick it up.
Adrian didn't move an inch, his large hand gripping her right wrist seemingly tightening.
He gave a humorless smile. "Your right hand was fine when you were playing bean bag toss, but the moment I touch it, you make a scene. What, is this injury of yours reserved just for me?"
"It is reserved just for you," Isabel seethed, raising her left hand to slap him.
*Smack.*
The sharp sound made the driver, who had just stepped out of the car, shrink back inside.
Martha, who had been walking to the entrance to greet them, also retreated.
Adrian pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek where he’d been hit, and a cold smile touched his lips.
But his voice was like the dead of winter. "Have you thought about the consequences of hitting me?"
"I don't care about your consequences!" Isabel couldn't take it anymore. "You're the one who won't let me go. You deserved to be hit!"
Adrian pulled her violently closer, his eyes cold and deep, like a vortex pulling her in. "Trying a new tactic, are we? Too bad. No matter what you try, I'm not buying it. Save your breath."
With that, he dragged her inside.
Isabel struggled to break free, but as if anticipating it, he restrained both of her hands.
"Change your shoes."
"I won't!"
