He also called Oliver over.

Martha tried to soothe him, "Young master, I made you potato cakes and shrimp bites today. There are no vegetables you don't like."

She handed him a plate. "I also made a puzzle for you with your food. It's Peter Pan, your recent favorite."

Oliver's mood improved slightly.

But while Martha's cooking was edible, it always lacked that special something his mother's had.

Still, he didn't want to approach Isabel. Her indifference made him angry.

Auntie Selena was much gentler.

Seeing that Oliver was eating, Martha breathed a sigh of relief and went over to Isabel. "You should eat something too. Breakfast is important."

Isabel shook her head. "No, thank you. I'll grab something outside later."

Martha didn't know what else to say. She turned to go back to the dining room to get something for her.

Just then, Adrian took a sip of his coffee and found it far too sweet.

He put the cup down with a bit of force, startling Martha. "What's wrong, Mr. Blackwell?"

Adrian's face was dark and menacing.

Martha didn't dare say another word.

Adrian had thought that the household could function perfectly well without Isabel.

Oliver had been eating without issue, and he himself could tolerate a sip or two of this unpalatable coffee. If worst came to worst, he could always hire a professional barista at a high price.

But for some reason, with Isabel here, everything felt wrong.

"Isabel, you want a divorce, is that right?"

Only then did Isabel react, looking towards the dining room.

Adrian said, "Make me a cup of coffee. If I'm in a good mood, we'll go straight to City Hall and get the paperwork done."

Isabel didn't really trust Adrian anymore. Everything he said lately seemed like empty words.

None of it was reliable.

But she was desperate to get divorced, and without Adrian's consent, it would be incredibly difficult.

In the end, she said nothing and went to make the coffee.

After breakfast, Adrian went upstairs to change. As he reached the top of the stairs, he called for Isabel.

Isabel was irritated by the sound of his voice. "What now?"

"Come up."

"..."

Isabel didn't move.

Adrian said, "It would be in your best interest to listen."

Isabel grit her teeth and followed him upstairs.

Adrian handed her a suit and a white dress shirt. "This is what I'm wearing today."

"?" Isabel was confused. "Don't tell me you expect me to dress you, Your Majesty, Blackwell?"

Before Adrian could answer, she quickly added, "That's not happening."

Adrian replied coolly, "So you don't want to go to City Hall anymore?"

"..."
