Before returning to her home country, Catherine went to the Ashford family to apologize but didn't get to see Isabel. With no time to spare, she left the gifts, offered her apologies to Mr. and Mrs. Ashford, and immediately flew back.

After reporting on her work and finishing up her tasks, she finally had a moment to breathe. Alexander asked how things went, and she vented her frustrations.

"He was rebellious as a child, with a difficult temperament. It's only gotten worse with age."

Alexander sighed, the thought of Adrian giving him a headache as well. "Let him be. As long as it doesn't affect us."

"How should we handle this matter?"

"Isabel is dead. What's there to handle? Just offer compensation and condolences," Catherine said.

"And Selena?"

"That's not my problem. Whoever's girl she is can deal with her."

Catherine was growing annoyed. "What do you think Adrian is playing at?" If it was all for Selena, why would he let news of his marriage become public? And if he didn't want a divorce, why would he stand by while Isabel announced their marital status, only to then protect Selena so fiercely?

"And then there's Grey Zone..."

"Catherine, let's not talk about this now," Alexander cut her off. "Take a break. We can talk later."

Catherine realized she had almost misspoken. They weren't at home, after all. They had to be careful; walls have ears. If Grey Zone was connected to Adrian, then she and Alexander needed to be even more cautious.

"Let me know when you're coming back, brother."

"I will."

She had, however, heard about Adrian's activities in the Fiorhaven Principality. She never believed Adrian was in love with Selena. If he were, they would have gotten married as soon as they were of age, even with Selena studying abroad. The fact that he didn't stop Isabel from publicizing their marriage was also strange. Therefore, she suspected it all had something to do with Grey Zone. Selena was important, but how she was important was something she had yet to uncover.

Adrian visited the old residence that evening to see Oliver and showed him the pictures he had taken.

"We found your mother."

Oliver's eyes lit up the moment he saw the photos on the phone. "Dad, you're amazing! It's Mom!" Even if he could mistake someone, surely his own son wouldn't.
