Her heart trembled inside his chest when he twisted his neck in a psychotic manner making her nerves quiver in fear. It took everything in her to not run for the door and ran away from him at that moment.
He looked lethal.
Predatory.
As he prowled towards her. She stumbled an abrupt step back. It was involuntarily, she didn't want to move back but it happened as an instinct.
"Are you scared, Chloe?" He asked calmly, making her heart pound wildly inside her ribcage. She wanted to say yes because she was terrified but she stayed mute. Not saying anything.
The fact that he always called her Love and was now calling her Chloe made her heart bleed. Nothing made sense to her anymore. She was at the point of her life where she didn't know what was right and what was wrong.
She made a decision three years back and left him because he couldn't leave his mafia. But now seeing all these disasters and the mess of their lives, she didn't know what she did at that time was right or wrong. She just wanted to save her baby.
"You should be scared." He hissed lowly making her lips quiver as she lowered her head down.
Andrew walked in circles around her. She knew what he was doing, he wanted her to see that he was sizing her up. He wanted her to know that he thinks of her as his enemy.
He stopped right behind her and she held her breath and waited for his next move but nothing happened. Minutes passed but nothing happened.
Her heart was pounding so wildly that she thought it would come out of her chest.
Her breath hitched when she felt the heat of his body closer and right behind her.
She wanted to take a step forward but her feet were frozen on the spot. It hurts to be afraid of the man who was her everything.
"Are you afraid?" His deep voice resonated in the small place which appeared a lot more claustrophobic due to his intimidating presence.
She again shook her head in negative, it was so meek and light but he saw it and it kind of pissed him off. He wanted her to be fucking terrified of him. But did he have it in him to make her petrified?
"Wrong answer." He growled, grabbing the nape of her neck he swivelled her around, earning a shrill cry of fear from her as her hands raised up and she grabbed his hand trying to free herself, her eyes shut closed. He jerked her up, making her eyes shoot open wide and there he saw it.
Fear.
Potent.
And
Raw.
She was afraid of him but was pretending to be not. But he wanted to hear it from her pretty little mouth. He wanted to hear it from those fucking tempting lips.
She needed to save Chase when her husband was drowned in vengeance to kill those who had taken their Lucas.
"I tried to make you un...understand." She whispered as she slowly opened her teary eyes and looked at him.
She gulped seeing so much anger in his eyes and she knew so well that he was hiding his pain behind all that anger.
"By escaping! You fucking make me understand by taking my son and ran away! You make me understand by leaving a one piece letter behind saying not to look for you and fucking forget you. The fuck you make me understand?" He growled at her face like a deranged man causing a shiver to fear to envelope her heart in a steel grip.
It was as if someone was holding her heart in a fist of iron and was continuously squeezing to cause her more pain.
Unbearable pain.
"I ...asked you to c..choose." She stuttered as big fat tears continued to pour out of her eyes and kissed her cheeks.
"Did I choose?" His voice became so cold all of sudden as he glowered down at her.
"Y..you never a..answered." Her chin wobbled as she looked at him with so much hurt that it caused his heart to bleed in pain but he won't make the same mistake again.
Love was a weakness. And in his life there was no place of love.
