She walked towards his office which was now on the north wing of the mansion. She was about to walk up the stairs to the second floor where his office used to be but Shawn informed her where his office really was.
As she stood in front of the big black door. Her heart started to beat faster with nervousness. Many questions started to swirl inside her head to which she had no answer.
With a deep breath she knocked on the door and heard his voice "come in."
With mustered up courage she walked inside and closed the door shut behind her. She didn't want him to think that he scared her.
Walking further in, she stood in front of his desk. He was sitting there like a true mafia boss. The mere aura around the room was intimidating and there was his scent in the whole place which was calming her to a certain extent.
"Today I'm very happy." He said in his deep gruff voice that resonated in the whole room.
Her heart stuttered at his words and there was this small hope that perhaps he was happy because she followed his rules and didn't retaliate but she was utterly wrong.
"Ask me why?" He said with a dark look in his eyes and the way a bone chilling smirk adorned his face, she knew whatever he was about to say would be ruthless but still she asked.
"Why?" Her voice was a soft whisper but he heard it due to the ominous silence surrounding them.
"Because I've finally decided to get rid of the baggage that was on my chest for the last three years." His voice suddenly dropped to its coldness.
Opening one of the drawers at his side, he took out a file and tossed it towards her in an abrupt disrespectful manner as it landed on the desk in front of her.
Their eyes met as he motioned at her to check the file.
All of a sudden there was this urge in her to avoid it. To leave but she holds the file with her sweaty hands.
She didn't want to open it but he urged her, his voice sweet all of a sudden. "Go on." She stared at him but his dark eyes gave nothing away.
With a gulp she put her focus on the file and opened it. Her eyes went through the content written on it and it was like she couldn't breath.
A heavy obstruction formed in her throat and her tongue became immobile, forgetting the simple function of talking. She stood there tongue tied as she gazed at the content written on it.
Her shocked eyes snapped up to meet him as if she couldn't believe what was written on the papers.
"Why are you so shocked?" His voice was full of mockery; her heart squeezed painfully inside her chest and tears threatened to escape her eyes.
"Sign the papers." He commanded her in a cold chilling voice. She looked him in the eyes for any fragment of emotion or hesitation but there was none. There was a cold mask on his face, he wasn't letting her in but too bad she was a stubborn species and nobody knows this better than him.
"I will not." She said in the same tone as his, making his eyes narrow more.
She saw how his razor sharp jaw clenched and there was a twitch in it. Was she making him angry, well good cause she wanted to slap some sense in him.
"I'm not a patient man." He warned inching closer that there was just an inch difference between their bodies from touching.
"I know." She said with a sweet smile that it caused his heart to stutter inside his chest and his guards came down for a fleeting second and there she saw the hint of her old Andrew but he was gone as soon as it came.
He steeled his stance and the mask that appeared on his face was deadly and purely ominous.
She still didn't back down. "I see, I still affect you." She blurted those words out knowing fully well she was playing with fire.
A loud gasp escaped her lips when his large calloused hand wrapped around her dainty neck.
