"I don't understand." Susie said after a long pause.

"Everything was going fine and then all of a sudden I got to know that our always brooding boss has a son and then the son was just like the father who made three nannies lose their jobs on the very first day and then you came. Chase listened to you as if you were his mother." She said in a thinking manner making Chloe to sigh.

"And today the boss was behaving so weird. He always takes care of his staff, even to the extent that we eat the same food as him but today he especially commanded us to prepare that tasteless food for you. I don't understand." Susie mumbled while sitting in front of her with a frown on her face.

"I wonder who is the mother of his child?" Susie said.

The answer was at the tip of Chloe's tongue but then she recalled his so-called rules.

"How many people live in this mansion?" Chloe asked softly trying to change the topic which worked.

"Boss is the only man who lived in this lonely mansion but I'm happy that now he has Chase. And the security head Shawn also lives here but he's not the family of the boss but the boss treats him like a family." Susie answered with a smile and before Chloe could ask, Susie continued.

"There's this elderly lady named Jess, her daughter Eli with her husband Ethan and their son Steve come to visit the boss often. They were the only people close to my boss as far as I know." Susie answered, making Chloe's heart flutter at the mention of them.

"Where do they live?" She asked.

"I don't know but they must live somewhere near because sir Ethan comes to visit boss often." Susie said.

"Oh I'm so sorry. I'm wasting your time. You must rest because from tomorrow your real job will start and I can literally understand how difficult it is to be a nanny cause I was once a nanny when I was in college. Oh so bad of me, I'm a non stop talker and I won't stop talking. It's better I should leave, please take a good rest." Susie said sheepishly and left the kitchen.

Chloe sighed.

With slumped shoulders she retreated back to her room or more like a dungeon. No lights were on in that creepy corridor. Once inside her room she turned on the light which was a small hanging bulb in the corner. She turned on the old looking fan and she was glad for it.

Closing the door behind she slumped down on the mattress and sighed on the pillow.

And the tears followed and she cried. She cried to her heart's content, she punched at the cushion once, twice before she wailed like a broken little child completely unaware that there was a hidden camera in her room and someone was watching her.

Pain.

It hurts to see him hurting like that. Nothing made sense to her anymore. Her mind was a jumbled mess and it was like she was trapped with no way out. She didn't know what's wrong and what's right anymore. She knows nothing.

She didn't know when sleep engulfed her tired form. In the morning Susie was the one who woke her up.

Quietly Chloe went to the restroom and did her business, she wore the second pair of her nanny uniform and tied her hair in a fluffy bun.

She blinked, being unable to answer her baby. "S..soon." she whispered.

"But when you left after lunch for work. Daddy came, I asked him the same thing but he said this is my home now." Chase mumbled, making Chloe shut her eyes.

"Tomorrow I'll take you to the garden. Now sleep baby, it's too late." She caressed his hair and soon Chase went to sleep.

She lay there for a while before she covered him with the duvet and came out only to stop dead in her tracks. Her wide eyes meet with the brown ones of Shawn.

There was no hate in his eyes and her heart swelled up when he gave her a soft smile and nodded his head slightly. This was his kind way of greeting her. She smiled back at him but her eyes were glassy. He hasn't changed much but now he has a trimmed beard.

"How have you been?" He asked in a strong voice.

"Okay." Was all she could say, after the loss of Lucas she was never the same again.

"Andrew is calling you in his office." He said, making her gulp.

What did he want now?
