“Okay! Tomorrow night then. What do you like to eat?” His cautious voice turned excited.
Natalie thought for a moment. “Let’s get some local specialties. There’s a place near the hospital. I’ll come find you.”
Ian was thrilled, his voice filled with a melodious laugh. “Okay. I’ll send you the address tomorrow.”
Natalie agreed, “Sounds good.”
After hanging up, she felt the deadly aura radiating from the man beside her. She heard Sebastian’s cold, deep voice. “That was the man from the hospital.”
Natalie replied, “Yes. Mr. Griffith, it was only after leaving you that I realized just how many handsome men there are in the world.”
Since he was already angry, she decided to add more fuel to the fire.
As expected, Sebastian’s face grew even darker.
Natalie smirked.
Ha... but she was too much of a coward to laugh out loud.
But in the next moment, her karma arrived.
Sebastian roared at Sean, “Sean, pull over! Tell her to get the hell out.”
Sean stopped the car, only then realizing they were on the expressway.
They were heading to a meeting in the west of the city and had taken the ring road.
Natalie saw they were on the elevated highway. Sebastian was going to abandon her here.
Natalie let out a cold, bitter laugh. “Mr. Griffith, this is the second time you’ve thrown me out on the highway. Sebastian, I hate you. I never want to see you again in this life.”
Sebastian’s heart sank. He wanted to say something, but Natalie had already opened the door, gotten out, and slammed it shut.
He remembered now. The last time, Joanna had called him, complaining of a stomach ache, and he had dropped Natalie off mid-journey. He hadn't paid attention to where they were.
Sean shook his head. “Sir, I wouldn’t dare. I was just following your orders.”
Sebastian’s gaze turned icy. “Drive.”
He glanced back down the highway. The traffic was heavy, and he could no longer see Natalie.
Damn that woman. Always testing his patience. If she died, it would serve her right.
Sebastian was furious, closing his eyes to rein in his rage.
After getting out of the car, Natalie spotted an exit not far away. She breathed a sigh of relief. This time, she wouldn’t have to walk for two hours. Twenty minutes and she’d be off the highway.
As she walked, tears streamed down her face. Thinking about the past still hurt.
As she was about to reach the underpass, Natalie sensed a car behind her accelerating. A wave of panic washed over her. She spun around to see a car hurtling straight for her.
