I sneer at them and stalk towards them, still paralysed from the sight of me, leaving their bodies exposed to wounds. I lung at another man and slash his chest, similar to Adella.
The other wolves run at me and I tackle one, dragging my sharp claws from my hind legs along his unprotected stomach, his whine sounding loudly. I jump off him, knowing he will pass soon and proceed to other wolves.
I let my wolf take over and he finishes off another two wolves and two men, we then turn to help Adella.
She has also finished off all the remaining men and wolves except the main guy that spoke to me previously, she is still in human form but the shirt she is wearing is soaked in blood and clinging to her body.
I watch passively as she starts to fight the man, gradually gaining closer to them to help before I hear another sound behind us. A sound that's very dangerous. I slowly turn my head round, hoping it's not what I think it is.
I see a man, quite buff and clean, most likely hiding out to attack us like this. His right hand holding a gun which is focused on Adella and mine's direction, I growl and this causes Adella to quickly look around.
Her eyes go wide and quickly flit to mine worriedly, not knowing what to do. I sniff the air, trying to figure out whether the bullets are silver or not as that fact could affect our movements significantly.
"Now now wolfy step aside and if you take another step towards your mate, I will shoot her." I follow his orders and keep my eyes locked with Adella.
When I charge at the man with the gun, attack the man beside you and disable him from doing any harm.I mindlink to Adella.
She looks into my silver eyes before looking into the eyes of the man with the gun. I sniff and can tell that he's also a werewolf but not one of power.
My wolf emitts more strength, our Alpha power increasing and Adella cops onto my idea and does the same. This causes both of the remaining men to falter for a second and cower but not enough to make a move.
It seems like hours that the man finally gets to Adella, his gun still aimed at her but his free hand trailing up and down her arm. I fight my wolf to stay in control, him wanting to rip the man to shreds for touching our mate.
Once I'm fully awake, my ears tune into what's happening and I listen. I use a technique that I was taught years ago to keep my state seemingly asleep even though you're fully awake. I could tell that none of the uninvited guests realised but Ashton did and that's why his grip loosened discreetly on me, so it could allow me to move.
"We work for someone who wants her." Someone says and it makes me ponder slightly, Russell? He already sent that letter today so I doubt he'd send these men out but I couldn't think of who else would be out for my blood.
Soon enough I hear footsteps approaching where Ashton and I are situated and I leap into the air, while partially growing my claws and dig them into the chest of a man.
He immediately falls to the ground and I inwardly smile, god I seem weird. I carry on my attack, my wolf livid at the fact that someone is out to hurt me and Ashton. I watch as my wolf elegantly and dangerously kills the men and wolves, our body gaining a few scratches and tears but nothing as bad as what we've done.
Within minutes the floor is littered with dead bodies of men and wolves, my body and shirt covered in a small amount of my blood but mostly theirs. I see that Ashton has also finished off his share and is now walking towards me.
