He turned and gave Jasper a firm, respectful nod. "Thank you, Mr. Beckett."

Jasper simply returned a slight, solemn nod, watching him go without a word.

Once Eden was escorted into the interrogation room, Cyrus hurried over to Jasper, clapping a heavy hand onto his shoulder. "Thanks for your hard work, Jasper. Justin's secretary's statement gives us concrete evidence. That bastard won't be able to play any more games. This time, we're definitely convicting him."

The corners of Jasper's lips lifted slightly, a gentle warmth touching his eyes. "I didn't do much. It was Lyse. She trapped Mr. Huber at Seaview Manor last night, keeping him entirely under her control. She's the smart one here."

Cyrus couldn't help but tease, "Wow, it's 'Lyse' now, is it? Not 'Ms. Alyssa' anymore? No need to pretend you two aren't close?"

Jasper pressed his lips together so tightly that they turned pale. "Mr. Cyrus, I—"

"I'm just pulling your leg." Cyrus squeezed Jasper's broad shoulder, his expression turning serious as he let out a sigh. "Jasper, I'm Lyse's seventh older brother, so of course I'm going to take her side. She has truly gone through hell for you. If you really want her to be happy, hold onto her hand tightly this time. Do not let her go again.
