Catch Her By Her Scent novel Chapter 12

"You can call me Rose, Sophia, after all I wasn't always the Moon Goddess I just happened to be the first werewolf and the mother of the royal lines."

"Ok Rose what is this great story that you have for me?"

"I will start, but you must not interrupt me, you can ask me all the questions you desire to ask at the end of my story ok?"

I nodded and gestured for her to go on.

"A long time ago when I was getting old and weak I had just had twins. One was a boy, Ethan, and the other was a girl, Maria. Since I knew I wouldn't be long in that world I bestowed upon them the powers to balance the werewolf race and keep peace. When I was performing the spell to do this I hadn't realize that the spirits that allow the supernatural race to live, would take my words so literally.

You see the spirits are the things that give us our power, our wolves, and all the other supernaturals their gifts. The spirits are the ones that created us and they are the ones that control the balance and regulate everything that happens in the supernatural community.

They decided to meddle with my spell and twist my words into something else. They made my Maria a white wolf and Ethan a black wolf. The spirits made them to where the balanced each other out not the werewolf race, like I said they twisted my words. At first everything seemed perfectly fine, but then Ethan seemed to get darker and more depressed. He started to do outlandish things, then he started killing. I didn't want to believe, but when I went to talk to him about it his eyes had turned red. He wasn't Ethan anymore he was something that was pure evil.

I tried to stop him, but when he got so powerful to where he could defy my orders I know I had to end it. I got my mate and his warriors to set a trap and kill him so the evil that was inside him would cease to exist, but I was wrong. They captured him and brought him back to the pack house and chained him in the basement where he couldn't escape when he looked at my mate and I we knew that Ethan was forever gone whatever was left wasn't the least bit good. He saw us in front of him and said that we would never be able to rid ourselves of him, now that we had called that power onto the earth you couldn't banish it unless you knew exactly how to do it.

In that moment we knew that the cycle would keep repeating once a white or black wolf died another would be born in their place. We searched for a loophole to the evil I had created. We finally found something that could ground the powers and reveal them at the same time. The black and white wolf would live normal lives until they find their mates. Once they find their mates then their powers reveal themselves. For the white wolf her mate is to keep her from using too much and becoming all powerful. For the black wolf his mate is meant to keep the evil inside of him from surfacing and becoming too much for him to handle.

She walked into the forest and smiled and pointed behind me then disappeared. I turned around and looked where she pointed and saw my mom and dad standing there. I ran over to them and hugged them while tears streamed down my face.

"Hello Angel" My dad said smiling at me while I held onto my mom.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"The Moon Goddess allowed us to see you again. We are happy we could see you before you left."
