We left, but a few hours later some of the elders found us and brought both of us to the council chambers. They asked for both of us to shift. We looked at each other not knowing why they wanted to see our wolves, but did as they said none the less. Once in our wolf forms the elders stared at me with surprise. They had just found a black wolf. A wolf that had only been heard of in legends. We could tell that they didn't know what to do with me. They finally started to talk to us and all they said is that they wanted us to stay for a while and left.

When they returned they brought the Alpha King he saw my wolf form. Like the elders he looked surprised, but there was also something else in his eyes and it was fear. Fear of what I was capable of. He turned to the guards and whispered something to them. We didn't really notice when more of the warriors came in. When the King shut the doors he stared at us then signaled something to the fighters. They all attacked us at the same time.

We weren't prepared for it and they bit into my sides, but with me already being an experienced fighter I shook him off me when I heard a howl then a whimper. I looked over at her long enough to see the life drain from her eyes and body. I went completely berserk. I will be completely honest with you I don't remember anything after feeling the loss of my mate. I just remember coming to and seeing all the fighters on the floor and the King nowhere to be found. Of course I knew he ran away to somewhere he knew would be safe.

And that my dear is the story about why I became a rogue."

I stare at him in shock and pity. I couldn't imagine losing my mate even though I didn't want one. I don't know what to say or even how to process this new information. My mind was running about a hundred miles per hour. I probably sat there for a good twenty minutes before I worked up the courage to finally speak remembering something that he said earlier.

"That was some story, but what does that have to do with you thinking I am a white wolf?"

Once the rogue pack saw that they were out matched without their whole pack they began to fall back. I was glad because I don't think we could have lasted much longer anyways. I looked around to see how many of the warriors were injured or dead, luckily none were dead, but some were injured very badly. I went around to each trying to do my best to help them heal, which mostly consisted of stopping their wounds from bleeding.

I go back to my brother wearily knowing he will probably lecture me about leaving for the childish reason of not wanting to go to the mating games. I look at him cautiously and then see that he is bleeding heavily and looks like he's about to pass out at any second. I grab his shirt and tear it into strips to stop the bleeding. Once it stops I look at him at he still has that we aren't finished look and says, "We are still going to talk about this, don't think you are going to get out of it just because this happened."

All I do is nod and keep the pressure on his wound. About thirty minutes later there are some more pack members there to help with the injured wolves and to help get them back to the pack house.
