"Wait!" He panicked and grabbed my left wrist. I couldn't help but to growl in pain when he tightened his grip. He raised his eyebrows, asking a silent question: What's wrong? I didn't want to answer him, I tried to pull away but he wouldn't let me.
He got up, rolling up my left sleeve. "Lucas!" I tried to fight him, but his grip was too strong. I could feel the hot tears filing my eyes, I didn't want him to know about this. A lump was creating in my throat, as I fought him in desperation. My heart was racing like crazy, dizziness in my head was overwelming…I couldn't fight Lucas, and yet I tried. He started unrolling the white gauze I previously put around my wrist. I blacked out, the only sentence in my head was He's gonna see it! My ugly secret!
His eyes ran over my scarred wrist. They burned with anger and something else, emotion I couldn't quite put my finger on. "Skye," His low voice made me shiver. He only used my name when he was about to say something serious. I couldn't look at him. I closed my eyes, pretending that if I shut them strong enough, all would disappear. "did you do this to yourself?" His voice was so serious. "Open your eyes." He demanded, lifting up my chin, making me face him.
I opened my eyes and bitter tears started pouring down my cheeks. He saw me. He saw how ugly I was. "Y…Yes." I hardly murmured through the sobbing.
He pulled me in a hug, and gently whispered. "Shh, it's okay…" He pressed my face into his hard chest and softly traced the scar tracks.
When the worst of the crying was over he slowly asked: "Why do you do this to yourself?" His voice was gentle. He treated me like I were a porcelain doll, which will break if you squeeze it too much. I wanted to lie. But I couldn't. Not to him.
"I…It hurts," I started with a trembling voice "the b…bullying in school. The words…Their looks…I had to f…find a way to…l…let it out…" My voice just wouldn't stop shaking. I couldn't even look him in the eyes.
He opened his mouth to say something, but he seemed to choke up. Suddenly he threw his arms around my waist and buried his head into my lap. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Skye." I could hear the muffled noises. I didn't understand.
"This one is because of me, isn't it?" He gently brushed my newest scar.
"N…No…" I shivered.
"Don't lie!" He said angrily, gripping me even harder. I couldn't answer him. He was so hurt already, I couldn't…He sat up and pulled my hand closer. He kissed it. He kissed the scars. Every single one of them. The moon shined through my window, splashing over his handsome face. He might have a black eye and a slit lip, but he was still mesmerizing. His full lips kissed my hand a million times and then a million times again. "I promised I wouldn't let anyone hurt you and then I…" He couldn't even finish his sentence, biting his lip so hard the blood started pouring out again.
He slowly pulled away, looking at me. "That was a french kiss."
"I know what it was!" I covered my lips and blushed.
He laughed the cutest way possible and threw himself on the pillow, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me towards him. He hugged my arms with his, facing my back. I could feel his hot breath twirling on my ear. "You're sleeping with me tonight." He chuckled.
"W…What?!" I panicked.
"Calm down lil' kitty, I said sleep, not having sex. You perv." He laughed, pulling closer to me, I felt his entire body behind me, his hard chest pressing onto me.
