I wasn't really thirsty. "I'm good, thanks."
"Are you sure? It's on me." He grinned.
"No thanks, you go ahead."
"Suit yourself." He sighed. "One beer." He said to the waiter.
I looked around and noticed some of those big fluffy bags for sitting.
"You can go sit there." Lucas said, noticing me checking out the bags. "Jimmy and Kayla are meeting us here anyway. I'm just gonna wait for my beer." He casually said.
So this wasn't a date. Of course it wasn't a date, he said he doesn't do that, plus who would invite their friends to a date? I shook my head and sat on one of those comfy pillow-bags. Lucas looked so careless, leaning on the bar counter, checking his phone. He did sort of fit in this crowd with that leather jacket of his.
A small girl with blond hair approached him and poked him with her finger. He turned around and laughed. He laughed. They were both smiling at each other. I suddenly got this burning feeling inside of me…I just wanted to rip her head off. What the hell? You don't just go over to Lucas and make him smile like that you…you…bitch!
Somebody bumped onto my pillow-bag and almost knocked me over.
"Heeey Skye! Didn't see you in a while!" Jimmy happily squeaked at me. His piercing blue eyes were sincerely shining.
"Hey Jimmy." I smiled back. How could I not, he looked like a happy dog greeting his owner.
"Where's Lucas? I thought you were coming here together." He seemed surprised.
"Oh, he's ordering a," I saw that Lucas was already holding a beer in his hands, still talking to that girl. "beer." I hated admitting that, but she was pretty. She had long blond hair which matched her grey, almost silver eyes and of course - curves on the right places. She was wearing a tight blue dress, matching her perfectly black, high heel shoes. She was playing with her hair and giggling all the time. I looked at myself. My hair was…dirty blond? Hazelnut brown? I don't know, I never did pay much attention to the colour, all I know is that they were sort of wavy. I glanced at my clothes. A pair of old jeans, matched with an ugly green jacket and black trainers. I was no match for that girl.
Jimmy's face suddenly appeared in front of mine. "Maya Vickey."
"What?"
"The name of the girl Lucas is talking to." He explained.
"I've got something for you!" He snorted and reached inside his pockets. He pulled out a small cigarette. At least I think it was a cigarette, it was smaller then the usual ones, and it looked home-made. "This," He pointed the cigarette in my face "makes all the problems disappear." He lighted it, taking a long puff. He held it in for a while and then blew a long white cloud through his lips. He started coughing and laughing at the same time, rolling off the pillow-bag, giving me the cigarette.
I was just about to take the first puff when somebody snatched it out of my hand. "Don't smoke that shit." Lucas's dark eyes flashed at me.
"Why? You can't tell me what to do!" I snapped and tried to take it away from him but he grabbed my hand and pulled me up.
"You know what this is?" He furrowed his eyebrows, angrily.
"No." I ripped my hand from his.
"Weed. Grass. Joint. Marijuana. Wacky Tobacy" He widened his eyes, angrily.
"So?" I pretended not to care even though I did. Who is he to tell me what to do? Why doesn't he go back to his Maya, telling her what to do!
