It looked familiar. I must have run towards Lucas's apartment. Unintentionally.

"Well, well…" I heard a snappy female voice behind me. I turned around. Virginia and her SS team. "Are you lost, little bitch?" She said, grinning.

I was still breathing heavily from all the running. Great, the bitch is here to make my day even worse.

"I asked you a question!" She spat at me, crossing her arms.

"I'm not in the mood, Virginia." I snapped at her. I've never done that before. But today was different. Today I didn't care. Today it didn't matter.

"What?" She asked confused.

"I said," I threw the long locks of my soaked hair on the side of my face. "fuck off." I pierced her with my green eyes, not caring what will happen next.

She jumped closer, anger flashing from her evilness. "You don't talk to me like that, you stupid cunt!" She spat again.

"Yeah!" Susan F. encouraged her.

"Shut up Susan!" Virginia yelled, not even turning back. She was really mad. "Get. Your. Filthy. Hands. Off. My. Man." She emphasized every single word.

I picked my brain, trying to figure out who she was talking about…oh right, Lucas. I stepped closer to her, looking her straight in the eye. "I bet he wouldn't be with you even if you payed him." I said in a low voice, turning my lips into a faint smile.

Her face grimaced in anger, and then she clenched her hand into a fist, swinging at me. The first hit hurt a little. But I was already feeling fuzzy from my empty stomach, I knew the pain will disappear. The second hit hurt a bit less, but it made me bit my tongue, filling my mouth with warm, salty blood. The third blow knocked me on the ground. I was numb. I didn't care. I didn't even feel the water beneath me. I didn't even feel the drops of rain kissing my face, covered with blood. I didn't taste the metal taste in my mouth anymore.

If I die today, I die today.

I don't remember much from later on. I don't even remember breathing. I remember a few kicks in my ribs as I was laying on the floor, I remember female voices screaming…but it seemed so far away.

I remember someone lifting me up. Splashing water in my face. I remember a face.

A face with dark eyes.

I remember his lips moving. I didn't hear what he was saying.

My hair was still wet. The lips were chapped, and my tongue parched. I need to get something to drink. I slowly stood up, noticing that the left side of my body was really sore and painful, my shoulder, my back…I saw a red wound on my elbow. Must've scratched it when I fell.

I got out of the bed, walking slowly towards the door, when I suddenly felt so dizzy…the heat struck me in the head…my eyes became foggy…I was falling.

The door slammed as he caught my fall. He had so strong, and yet incredibly gentle hands. He held me like I was made from glass. So fragile. So pathetic. I grabbed onto his hand, trying to pull myself up.

"Slow down, lil' kitty." He softly growled.

"I'm fine." I said. His secret was eating into my mind. It was sitting in the left corner of my dark mind. I didn't want to think about it, but I knew it was there. Like a monster hiding in the closet, waiting to come out. I looked at my bare feet. "Where are my clothes?" I asked, tugging on the end of the big shirt, trying to cover my legs.

"They were wet, so I took them off…They are in the bathroom, drying on the radiator." He answered, carefully examining me with those dark eyes.

"Did you…" I avoided his look.

"I held my eyes close the entire time. Well, maybe I peeked a bit." He laughed for a second, but his smile soon faded away again. "Skye…" He moved closer to me, trying to touch me, but I jumped away. I don't know why I did that. I guess it was all just too much for one day. He moved his hand away from me. "Are you," He ruffled his wet hair, which now seemed completely black. "disgusted by me?" I saw sadness.
