The Next Day

Jayda woke up with a cold and a slight headache. She was not happy about it because she was anticipating leaving the hospital today. But with her cold, she had no doubt the doctor was going to keep her in the hospital for at least one more day.

To her surprise, she was discharged in the evening and that made her happy as hell. She promised the Doctor she was going to observe her bedrest thoroughly and would also take her medications at the appropriate time.

Sebastian took Jayda to her apartment, prepared a warm bath for her and picked out a nightdress for her to wear.

While Jayda had her bath, Seb made his way to the kitchen to prepare something for her to eat. He found ingredients for pasta and then began making dinner.

Jayda walked into the kitchen looking all fresh and clean. She wrapped her arms around Sebastian's torso.

"Thank you." She smiled and then kissed his cheek from behind.

"For what?" Seb asked with an eyebrow raised.

"For taking care of me and enduring my cranky side this morning."

Sebastian placed a kiss on her lips. "You're welcome. It's time to feed you two and then take your medications."

Jayda nodded.

She went to set up the table while Sebastian dished the pasta. Then they settled on the dining table and enjoyed their meal.

"Olivia called to check on you while you were taking a shower," Sebastian said.

"That's so sweet of her. I'm sure they would have appointed her to someone else until I resume on Monday."

"Monday?" Sebastian reiterated as he reached for his glass of orange juice.

"Yes, I'll be on bedrest tomorrow, next tomorrow and the rest of the weekend. I should be fine by Monday morning."

After their dinner, Sebastian ensured Jayda took her medicine and they did the dishes together.

"I was thinking about getting you a new car and probably a driver," Sebastian said as he stroked Jayda's hair. They were cuddling in her bedroom and her head was on his chest.

"You don't have to, Seb. My insurance company will get me a new one next week and I don't think I need a driver. I promise to be extra careful." She added.

"Okay, if that's what you want," Seb concluded. "I know I promised to stay with you all through your bedrest but I have to be somewhere tomorrow. I have to see Caleb to discuss a few things with him and then I have a meeting with a client. I will be back before you know it."

Jayda smiled, "It's fine. I'll probably spend the whole day sleeping because my medications make me feel so drowsy. Just make sure you buy some Ice Cream for me on your way back." She yawned.

Jayda adjusted herself so she could look Sebastian in the eye. "I was thinking we could start our baby shopping next weekend. Just with the basics and a few unisex items since we don't know the gender yet." She said with so much excitement in her eyes.

"No problem, I'm in." Sebastian smiled.

"Perfect, I'll start working on the list of what we have to buy. But we will split the bill."

Sebastian groaned, "I thought we've settled this."

"It's so unfair to let you pay for everything" Jayda pouted. "Okay, let's do it this way, I'll pay 40% and you'll pay 60%" She proposed.

"No, I'm paying for everything!"

"Please." She pouted.

"Okay, I'll pay 90% and you'll pay 10%," Sebastian said.

"Fine, just pay all instead!" Jayda gave up and returned her head to his chest; her best place in the world.

The Next Day.

"You don't have to carry me, Sebastian, you know I can walk to my room myself." Jayda chuckled as soon as Seb lifted her up in a bridal style.

She wrapped her arms around his neck comfortably.

"I know ma'am, I just want to pamper you. According to the Doctor, you must be on bedrest which also implies that you must not be on your feet for too long." Seb defended.

"Look, woman, Does it look like I drove all the way here for a glass of wine or water?" He asked in anger.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me, Sebastian. Do you think you're the only one who has suffered from all of these?"

"And if you're thinking that I drugged you or something, I swear by my Grandmother's grave, I never drugged you. I had no idea what happened that night. Never in my right senses would I have gone to bed with my best friend's brother. In as much as I try to remember what happened that night, in as much as I try to remember who approached who first, I can't because the memory of that night is all blur."

"I was shocked when I woke up naked beside you the next morning. I was ashamed about what happened so I left immediately. And since then I avoided Amelia in school because I don't know how I was going to tell her I landed in bed with her brother."

"Everything got worse when I found out I was pregnant. My Dad officially disowned me, I had to stop college and move to Australia to stay with my mom who wouldn't even let me think of abortion as an option."

"But it looks like you would have been satisfied if I had aborted Aaron." Katie completed, trying to hold back tears.

"If you are not convinced by the resemblance, I'll give you anything you need to get a DNA test done. His toothbrush, Saliva, hairbrush, anything? Just name it."

Sebastian ran his fingers harshly through his hair. "I'm sorry, I thought you involved me in this purposely. My life has been perfect until Amelia told us everything. I have a girlfriend whom I love so much and she's pregnant with my child. I don't even know how to open up to her about all of these."

"Why did you keep him away from me for so long? Don't you think I had a right to know about his existence? If Amelia hadn't found you, do you ever intend on letting me know about him?"

"I knew I was going to have to tell you about Aaron but not this soon. I was ashamed of everything that happened between the two of us. Your parents treated me like a daughter and the only way I could repay them was going to bed with their only son and getting pregnant?!"

"Besides, I know you Sebastian, after going through what Susan put you through, you would not have believed me if I had told you I was pregnant. You would have seen me like Susan, a gold digger."

"Four years ago, I was young, naive, I was a brat. I made some good and bad decisions. I know I should have told you about Aaron but I didn't have the courage to do so. All the same, I don't regret keeping Aaron."

"I begged Amelia not to tell you about him, I pleaded really hard with her but she disagreed. Then I made a proposal to her that I was going to tell you everything myself as it would make more sense if the truth comes from me, then she agreed."

"I don't have any problem with you loving another person or having kids with the woman you truly love. But please think well before you decide you want to be in Aaron's life."

"The last thing I want is for him to get hurt or feel disappointed by you. Aaron might want to spend time with you, he would want you to take him to the park and even attend some of his preschool programs, he still can't ride a bike on his own so he might want you to teach him that and even more."

"What I'm trying to say is that, being a part of Aaron's life will means dedicating a little bit of your time to him"

"If you can't, it's not too late to leave and we will pretend this conversation never took place. Aaron and I will be fine, we have always been."
