Jimmie finally realized he had shown way too much concern for her. He certainly didn't look like a guy whose confession had just been harshly rejected.

Jimmie quickly adjusted his expression, sitting back down with perfect composure. "Let's just eat, everyone."

"Right." Luella guiltily picked up her fork, glancing at Juniper and Shanley. "Show's over. You guys eat too."

Juniper looked at her, then back at Jimmie, the gears in her head turning furiously.

After dinner, Juniper pulled Luella aside to ask the real reason for her sudden return.

"To finalize a deal." Luella pulled out the paperwork, flashing a cheeky grin. "Juniper, whether my master plan works or not all comes down to getting this project signed."

Juniper didn't even glance at the contract. She just held out her hand.

Luella immediately placed the pen in her palm.

A few seconds later, the contract was signed.

"You trust me way too much," Luella said, flipping through the signed pages with a massive smile. "I could sell you out, and you'd probably still help me count the cash."

"Try it," Juniper warned, her eyes narrowing playfully.

"I wouldn't dare!" Luella tucked the paperwork away. "Seriously, Juniper. Thank you."

"So what's this plan of yours?"

Juniper looked up at her. "You said you changed it. Walk me through it."

She needed to make sure it wasn't reckless.

"You want to pull Lachlan down from his position and install someone else?"

After hearing Luella's explanation, Juniper was genuinely surprised. The trap she was setting was massive. One wrong move, and Luella would be buried in it.

"Exactly," Luella nodded. "Originally, I wanted to be the Executive Chief myself. But I changed my mind."

"Why?" Juniper tilted her chin, her peripheral vision catching Jimmie in the distance. "Because of Jimmie?"
