"Mmm—"
Lorelei wanted to argue back, but her mouth was suddenly shoved full of something.
The toothbrush.
The pungent taste of mint exploded in her mouth, completely waking her up.
"After you brush your teeth, I'm taking you to the hospital." Harold stood behind her, supporting her weight so she wouldn't lean over.
After all, she was still hobbling on one leg.
"The hospital?" Lorelei looked at him through the mirror, her voice muffled.
"You've been using the ointment for two days, and it's still swollen. We're going to get an X-ray to check it out."
Harold replied in a low voice.
Even though he was a doctor and had examined it himself, he couldn't put his mind entirely at ease.
Was he doing this because he wanted her to heal faster so she'd leave?
"Okay."
Lorelei lowered her eyes and agreed sensibly.
After freshening up.
Harold supervised her as she ate her breakfast: milk, an egg, and a whole-wheat flatbread.
A perfectly balanced and healthy meal.
"Let's go."
Once breakfast was finished, Harold went to his room, changed clothes, and returned to Lorelei's side.
Seeing her unskillfully managing the crutches, swaying back and forth.
He couldn't help but slow his pace, lean against the wall, and observe her carefully.
Wobbling side to side, just like a clumsy penguin.
At the rate she was going, by the time she made it downstairs and then to the hospital, it would probably be dark out.
"Heh."
Hearing the soft chuckle from behind her, Lorelei snapped her head around, only to find Harold staring at her with great amusement.
She knew he was laughing at her.
Lorelei bit her lip, but she didn't have the energy to snap back.
Whatever.
So what if she's a little cripple right now?
And seriously.
Was he just going to watch her hop all the way to the hospital like this?
At the very least, they didn't have their divorce certificates yet.
Seeing she was truly struggling, Harold slowly stepped forward. His deep, dark eyes locked onto her as he asked, "Do you need help?"
Lorelei shot him a glare, biting down on her lip, refusing to answer.
