"Are you coming?" Nahla called as the bell went. She'd been packed for three whole minutes already, and she was just waiting to escape because she was hungry. And a hungry Nahla was not a particularly happy Nahla.
"In a minute." I replied. "I've got to ask about the photographer Mr Tobias mentioned to me earlier."
Nahla's eyes gazed over at Eric, who was sat it his desk scribbling something away in a fancy leather notebook. She looked back at me and smirked. "Suit yourself. I'll save you a seat."
"Great." I replied. "Thank you."
"Bye." She said, before skipping out of the room, leaving just Eric and I left. I could sense that he knew we were the only two people here, but people were roaming the halls now, and their noise twittered in through the open door. I swallowed away the nerves and moved across quickly to the door. Without showing my face through the glass, I closed it swiftly and then made my way over to Eric's desk. He was now sitting with his hands on the desk, his notebook discarded to one side.
"Darcy." He looked up at me expectantly. "I don't know whether this is a pleasant surprise or not."
I still liked the way his name rolled off my tongue and if he was going to call my name often in class, I knew I had to stop thinking about the way his said my name, and concentrate on the fact that he said my name because he was my teacher, and was asking me a question, or to do something for him.
I paused for a moment, not knowing what to say. "What do you mean?"
